Okay A New Fun Problem Today "premium Parental Control"

Okay, today I start checking on functionality for my own tests and now a lot of the Parental COntrol functions that started working yesterday now pop up

and say "You need to upgrade to Premium Parental Control" Things like online schedule which I used to be able to do in 2012...

I have TS2013, my license has over 100 days and now this happens.

I honestly believe that this system is still under active development and doesn't have any regression plans associated with it, it seems like every day a new feature is introduced in parental control, or it magically starts working or then something breaks the next day.

  • I got the same issue today.. Not sure what is going on.. I did try to click on the "renew" but could not find any product about "Premium Parental Control"

Well I talked to a support spe######t and we did a remote session. Basically the License Key I have for BD2010 Total Security isn't quite compatible yet with some of the new

features that have been rolled out. They've fixed the support website bug, man was that a ###### and the tech told me that they'll have the Parental Control website portal issue resolved shortly, like next couple of days or so.

If you have Total Security, you won't have to buy the Premium Parental Control license but still, there's nothing on the website that talks about that either.

  • I bought Internet Security 2012.. Then upgraded free to IS 2013. According to BD web site my license should cover Parental control:

I am not going to have time to work with the bd tech to fix this issue for my account... I will wait for them to fix this issue for everybody.

I think that would probably be best.

  • I'm having the same issue here, using the 2013 Security Suite, build 16.18.0.1406

  • I did call phone support, and did send a couple of screen shots as requested. We'll see what they come up with.

How nice, phone support, how many other security software companies have phone support, let alone Christian here on the forum :)

    Hi Scott :)

    You are most welcome.

The issue will be fixed soon from our side and all the licenses for Internet Security/Total Security(even from older products) will have all the features activated.

    Take care.

Does the "Sphere" edition have all of the Parental controls as well?

    Thanks.

    Hello :)

Yes, it does, but only for the Windows operating systems. For Android we have a standalone application over here:

Also, it looks like I can now blacklist and sort on the lists with my BD2013TS older license key now as of the update this morning.

I'm now testing on a couple of websites to see if they actually block.

Well I hit another issue with blocking sites that shouldn't be blocked. There's no Whitelist capability so I opened a ticket to get that resolved as well. I'm satisfied that the functionality is there now however I would still like a bit more fine grained control. Right now I have a slider that gives a person's age and in the tests I say 18+ which is an a.dult. So, I would think that most content would not be filtered. Anyway, a ticket is open and I've opened a improvement suggestion to have Whitelisting too.

OK.. I am no longer having the Parental control premium issue.. but like everybody else, the blocking is not working right.. I unchecked the "Computer Games" for my son, but he is still being blocked in this category.

BTW, I found the user interface used for category blocking confusing.. The BLUE check mark on the category makes it look like the category is allowed.. but actually the category not allowed if it is checked... I would change that check mark to some thing like a CROSS symbol in RED, to indicate that the category is not allowed.

    Hello,

    @ Will Wood :

Thanks to our customers' valuable feedback, such as yourself, we also have a Whitelist option now, besides the Blacklist one in Parental Control. It has been implemented since build 16.0.25
