  • In BitDefender 2013 you have to activate the Parental Controls via the My.Bitdefender.com portal. If you look at the icons along the top you'll see a set of icons one is parental control. Cristian can answer this as to where the manual is for Portugese but you need to create a user profile and then associate that profile with a machine and then set the options.

Also some of the Parental Control options are only available in Total Security or Sphere, but anyway the parental controls are now all controlled via the Portal, which is different from 2012.

If you have a my.bitdefender.com account, go login to it. You can also create one.

Create a user profile under Parental Controls, i.e., your name or your kids name.

Then associate the computer account you'll see a gear cog icon that's the settings for the user. You can associate a profile with more than one machine.

Follow the options and this will enable the parental controls. It'll take awhile (usually less than a couple of hours if your PC is connected to the NET) and then Parental Controls will start functioning.

  • I already know what the problem. The MyBitdefender in Portuguese of Brazil does not work!!!!!

    Hello Faverao,

I've tested it on my end and I am able to activate Parental Control via MyBitdefender (Português - Brasil). If you need further assistance please post back or reply to your existing ticket ID 2012090510000871.

    Thank you!

  • I had this same issue - the cause for the problem in my case, was I was running on PC under a limited user account.

Basically BitDefender cannot configure itself as it does not have enough permissions, it just gives wrong message "Parental control is already installed" .

to fix this, just run the icon "Bitdefender Internet Security" using "Run as Administrator".. then you will see the parental control option, just click "Enable parental control".

As a non-admin user you do not get that option.

    Hope that helps others here.

Note to admin/support - ask your users if they are logged in as Admin or a non-admin user!

    Pat.
