Bitdefender Total Security 2015 Settings Not Saving

When I try to help my friend with fixing their intrusion detection/firewall settings to the max, the next day it resets to medium settings instead of staying at max. I have tried to uninstall bitdefender completely from my friends laptop and reinstall it but it continues to not save settings.
