Slow Boot Time With Bitdefender Internet Security 2015
Ever since I installed BitDefender Internet Security 2015, I've been experiencing slow boot times on my laptop. During the startup process, my computer seems to hang on a black screen with the cursor on it, right before the Windows log on screen. This takes about 30-40 seconds, and is totally unacceptable. This never happened before I installed BitDefender.
Why is that, how can it be fixed?

I have had the same experience. Had to uninstall and go back to Windows Essentials and start looking for another solution. Right now the $$ spent for 3 computers and a 2 year license looks like one of my less intelligent purchases. Hopefully an answer will be found.0 -

I am experiencing exactly the same issue on a new Dell Inspiron (Intel Core i3) running Windows 8.1. It takes over a minute after power-up to reach the Windows desktop since Bitdefender Internet Security 2015 was installed.0 -
Hiya corbomite1,
If you enable Fast Startup in your Windows 8.1 you will not experience the delay most of the time. My start up is around 7 - 10 seconds, only when I click "Restart" in the shutdown options do I have the boot delay.

Ever since I installed BD TS 2015, I am having horrendous Boot delays, including black screen between starting the computer and the welcome screen in windows 8.1, and again between logging in and the opening of the desktop.
I am also getting the impression that these delays tend to vary somewhat, and it seems to me that this depends on the receiving of BD updates. At first, I noticed that automatic BD updates tend to make apps hang for a while, so I decided to update once manually at every startup and once before every shutdown. And sometimes, after having performed this, the Desktop boot_s faster, only to revert back to these delays after the next shutdown,...and so on.
Another related issue occurs when, for some reason or another, an app gets stuck and hangs the system indefinitely, with me having no other option than to interrupt the power supply. And guess what happens when I reboot in such a case ? The computer reboots much faster that way !!!0 -
I also noticed that after the very latest build 18.17.0.1227 update, my Windows 7 x64 PC, added almost 30 seconds to the boot up time. I am using an SSD drive for my OS and the usual boot time for Windows used to be about 20 secs more or less, and after this build´s introduction, it went up all the way to almost 55 secs showing only the black screen with the cursor pointer, bummer!!! This has to be the worst ###### AV software I have ever come across. I went to the Startup Optimizer, which tells me my total boot-time amounts to 3:47 minutes already with only 3 startup services listed:
Ccleaner Pro monitoring: service ON
Adobe Reader and Acrobat Manager OFF
Intel Rapid Storage Technology - DelayedLauncher OFF
3:47 minutes for Pete's sake ! WTF , Bitdefender ??
I've also noticed BD tampering with Windows Automatic Updates, turning it off randomly, turning the Autopilot Profile from Standard into Work (and the other way round) right in front of my eyes, turning Safe Search off every time I open a browser and having ticked the box previously. And sometimes it also messes with the audio service, turning all sound off (as is the case now). I am getting ###### bored with this !0 -
i also have this problem with total security 2015 my pc have long time black screen before the log in screen about 40 to 50 sec i don't know why i was having Norton 360 before it and my pc was booting normally with it's max speed the funny thing is if you go to the bitdefender official website you will find them talking about the lowest AV software that have system impact and the lowest resources " />

Hello Mahmoud Elfar,
With the latest updated of Bitdefender 2015 you can remove the early boot scan which solves the long boot time. GUI>Antivirus>Check the "Custom" box>Miscellaneous tab>uncheck the "Early boot scan" box.

This also happens to me on a Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I posted a boot trace in my topic, maybe it helps:
