Unable To Install Av Plus 2016

I purchased AV Plus 2016 directly from bitdefender.com.


I have been unable to install it on Windows 7 64bit.


I downloaded the install file from inside central.bitdefender.com. When I double-click on the install file, nothing happens. No installer starts.


The same occurs if I download the AV Plus trial directly from bitdefender.com.


Just in case, I ran the bitdefender uninstall tool both in Safe mode and regular boot and tried installing again. Still nothing.


I do not have any other security software installed on this computer. I did have ESET NOD 32, however I uninstalled it through the Control Panel and then used their uninstall tool in Safe mode to ensure it was completely removed.


I attempted to open a support ticket, however the "Submit" button on the support form does not work in either Chrome or Firefox.


Please advise.

    On the Support form please make sure that all the starred (*) boxes are completed otherwise you cannot submit the form.

    For this issue make sure you are trying to install Bitdefender with a Windows account that has administrative privileges.


    If the issue still persists, delete this registry key:


    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products\EEDDA26FB4AE7874EADBF7221F52B22A


    Then try again to install Bitdefender.
