Can't Install On Windows 10

Hi


I can't install Bitdefender IS 2016:


  1. Log into central.bitdefender.com
  2. Click Install
  3. Installer Downloads
  4. Run installer (as admin)
  5. Installer downloads package
  6. When it gets to 100% it disapears then nothing else happens


  • ping bd.bdnc.net gives a response (average 88ms)

  • http://nimbus.bitdefender.net/ gets HTTP400 (Bad Request) (ping times out)
  • Also tried with Windows Defender and Windows Firewall turned off
  • Device appears under My Devices in central.bitdefender.com

  • C:\Program Files\BitDefender Agent is created but not C:\Program Files\BitDefender 2016
  • Running C:\Program Files\BitDefender Agent\ProductAgentUI.exe gives "Unexpected error. Please check that your PC is connected to the internet and try again."
  • Pinging the IP address in bdnc.ipv4 (52.28.147.30) gets a response

  • OK - managed to get it on in the end by logging into the machine with an administrative account, not just running the installer "as admin" from a user account.


    If I can leave a message, it's please signpost this stuff better. Potential customers will just bounce off your product. I imagine you've lost quite a few sales due to install troubles on Win10.


    Here's what I believe are prerequisites for successful installation under Win10:


    • Log in as admin, not user account
    • Disable Windows firewall
    • Disable Windows defender
