Trying To Upgrade Internet Security...

I am trying to install Internet Security 2016 using central.bitdefender.com with no success. I clicked on the "My Subscriptions", then on the "Activation Code" and I pasted my old activation code (with ~700 days left) and only got the message "The key you've entered is invalid". The "Install Bitdefender" button leads to Total Security installation with 30 days subscription(?!) Now on the "My Subscriptions" I have Total Security 2016 30 days trial. I don't need TS 2016! Now I have no Bitdefender product working on my computer. How can I remove my device account from Bitdefender Central?! (I can remove the device from my.bitdefender.com, but not from central.bitdefender.com). It's a complete mess...

    I suggest you open a Support Ticket if its saying your license is invalid ---> http://www.bitdefender.com/support/contact-us.html

    Bitdefender 2016 is designed to configure the appropriate product depending on your subscription .....If a trial version of Total Security is installed and you have an Internet Security License you can change the license by clicking on the "30 days left" on the bottom right of your product gui and click on "Activate Code".....Log in to Central and insert new code and your Total Security 2016 will be configured to Internet Security 2016 automatically....You may have to restart your system for the changes to take effect

  • I've tried to upgrade my old license key to a new activation code but with no success :( I've tried http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=59503 When I type my old license key I get an error "We weren't able to migrate your key. Please contact support". I did open a support ticket but you guys (BD staff) just gave me the answer how to install... 2015 version. It seems you didn't even read what I exactly wrote to you.

    I've uninstalled BD IS 2015 then installed 2016 version but when I did log in at BD Central to my profile, I saw 2016 version in My subscriptions but it's 30 days trial. In My devices I saw my computer's name and 2016 version but I couldn't get my new activation key by typing my old key. Now I came back to 2015 version but I still can see only 2016 version in My devices and My subscriptions and can't delete them.

    @KOMTUR Please provide me via PM or send us an e-mail at bitsy@bitdefender.com with the license key, in order to verify the reason behind the error.


    @tmk The case is under investigation. Our commercial team will get back to you in the shortest time possible with an answer to the issue encountered. In the meantime, please keep the 2015 version installed.

    And what now? When will I be able to install the 2016 version? I should wait for a message or something?


    I have the impression that Bitdefender company has no control over the new licensing system...

  • I performed the procedure described in the mail. Now everything seems to be fine. I have 3 PC, 700 days subscription. :)


    Today is too late, but tomorrow I will try to install IS 2016. The confusion associated with the installation does not change my opinion on the Bitdefender IS - I still consider it the best security package and I would not change it for another.
