BD processes using up high amounts of data bandwidth


This is an issue I’ve been having since I upgraded to the Bitdefender TS 2017 version. Every time I’m connected to the internet, the following BD executables (DEVMGMTSERVICE.EXE, Productagent service.exe, vsserve.exe & bdwtxag.exe) hog my data bandwidth despite no updates been downloaded and continue to eat into my limited data cap. Never faced this issue with the 2015 version of BD.


The issue persists despite a complete re-install and the only workaround is to disconnect from the internet.


Any help is appreciated.

    It seems the issue has fixed itself for now after an update to the latest build 21.0.24.53. Fingers crossed it doesn't happen again, in which case I'll submit the logs as per your suggestion.

    The problem has cropped up again, this time eating up even more bandwidth than before. I sent a mail to the above address with the logs about a week back and still haven't heard back.

    It's got to a point where I have to stay disconnected from the network to avoid data/cost overruns.

  • Having the same problem here. It started last year and cost me a fortune, BD said they'd credit me back and extend subscription if they find a fix but none was found, eventually it stopped. Now I see it has restarted the past week or two. Any more updates on this BitDefender? It's costing me over 3 gigs a day!


  • Here its the productagentservice.exe and bdwtxag.exe that are eating, nearly 40k per second PER PC!!! I have 4 PC's... do the math, thats expensive data.

    Guys I think its related to the Bitdefender wallet and the browsers. It only seemed to kick in the streaming when I loaded browsers up. Perhaps the technical team could look into this?
