Scan log shows zero items scanned
I have Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2017 installed, but whenever I scan my computer, the scan log states that nothing was actually scanned. When it was scanning, it took serveralnminutes and appeared to scan my computer. I have auto pilot on, so I should still be protected from virus right? I'm afraid my computer is actually under attack right now.

I am using Windows 10 Creators edition and Bitdefender 2017 Total Security. It seems after the update to Windows that when I do any type of scan Quick or Full while scanning the number of files show but if you look at the log file it shows all zeros as to number of files scanned. I have repaired and also re installed with no change. Thank you0 -
I have same issue with IS 2017 on two computers. I opened ticket for it.
There is no drives listed, virus definitions are 0, and scan time is 0.00.01. Also I tried to load old logs from before error started (in Notifications and then I looked for old scan and pressed show log) and Bitdefender says that it cannot load log file. Newer logs showed that 0 time and drives etc.
I tried reinstall (not just rapair but reinstall with uninstall tool) but it is not working.
I think is is just log error because in summary window there is normal time and scaned files. And scan is taking normal time to finish. Did same update changed something with log files?
I just installed Bitdefender Beta 2018 on 1 computer and log is working normally.
Is Beta safe enough to use? Will Beta automatically switch to regular version when Bitdefender 2018 is released and do you know release date?
or beta testers stays in beta even after release like Microsoft windows insider?

I was able to replicate the issue on our testbeds and notified our dev team.
A fix will be delivered via automatic update.0 -
Its a huge glitch/lag error. Save the log to the desktop to view it properly. The issue though is that windows logs it as a Critical Event which messes up the reliability records.
Its understandable the show of the app and services turning off when the PC or laptop is off but these random misleading log issues is kinda >.< annoying.
Note I say this because I also noticed this issue and I have called and sent support ticket as to this issue hope it gets fixed.
Just to show that the UI is not working properly for the scan log please fix as this is very concerning,0 -

I had the same issue the support person said to save the log file to the desktop to view.0 -
And do it like show the correct info? Like the amount of files scanned was correct or not 0 or something.0 -
Okay man you probably have the same glitch as I do. I was instructed by phone by a support crew member to > open the log and > then click on the save log button. Save it to the desktop and open the XML file it saved.
Then it should show the results. Be aware this is apparently a huge issue with a select few devices's app's log interface. And its annoying that it produces a windows error message.0 -

On my god thank you so much, it worked for me and I can see all the files. Do you know if they will fix this bug of Norbert being able to see he correct log in the Bitdefender interface?0 -

Its a bug that is device specific and its mostly because the Ui of BD sometimes gets apparently quote "clashes with Windows updates."
I run a OS win 8.1 and apparently this issue is effecting win 10.
From what I have seen on the forum its effecting both Applications of BD AV plus 2017 and The Total Security 20170 -

Virus signatures are another way of saying "definitions" or number of known virus signatures currently BD is watching for.0 -
One last question from me. Thank you so much for your help. Does it also give you a notification when you open the log saying that internet explorer restricted this webpage form running scrips or active controls?0 -
When I clicked the allow button, it just let me press like the extra tabs to open them up and let me see like the extra details.0 -
Its a security thing as some files of this nature could potentially harm the computer, BUT so long as its a reputable source like your AV/BD in this case your okay opening it. Just dont open files of this kind from other sources unless its made from a reputable source. OR your risking infection and damage.0 -

Oh. I was wondering this for some time, but does your logs also say that you've skipped quite a few items? I just a log where it said that it has skipped 771k items and that's a pretty big number o - 00 -
Maybe there is a technical glitch from BD software, try to download and reinstall the latest version of Bitdefender.

Created an account just to add the problem is also applicable to Windows 7 Home Premium. Brand new install on an old device and got zero scan results. Copied saved XML to browser and retrieved only the first stop window indicating scanned items and nothing found. all other drop menus and links were not active. No other details.0
