Activation of a promotional license

Currently I have installed Bitdefender Internet Security 2018 in my PC with a residual license of 35 days. I received an email with a discounted offer for Bitdefender Total Security 2018 that can be purchased until 31/12/2017. If I upgrade from BIS2018 to BTS2018 with the new license, will I lose the remaining 35 days? Or could I buy the license now and activate it in 35 days?
