Paid subscription, product fails to install
Purchased the Family Pack a few days ago on recommendation from various magazines. Installed fine on the win 10 desktop pc, but won’t install on the laptop. Laptop was win 8.1, tried installing bitdefender, but gets as far as the “preparing your computer” screen, then exits. Upgraded laptop to win 10, and still get the same problem. Have never had an AV product fail to install and have reverted to avast on the laptop. Any suggestions on how I can get, the product I’ve paid for, onto the laptop?

What Bitdefender antivirus product did you buy?
What installation file do you run on your laptop, the file you received by mail or downloaded from the Bitdefender website?

the family pack features license for 4 OS : android, iOS, macOS and windows (for windows it will be bitdefender total security only)
The family pack cannot be downloaded directly from bitdefender website & even clicking on trial on the main bitdefender website of family pack will display a notification to download the product from bitdefender central.
So since for windows, family pack has the availability of total security only, download the bitdefender total security directly from below link.
Online installer :

Offline Installer :

If you know the bit of your windows you can directly downloads the offline installer accordingly or if you do not have any idea of the bit, you can directly opt for online installer which will download product automatically according to your computer bit.
Online installer for total security will be the same product that you will get if you will click on download link on your bitdefender central account.
Once the bitdefender is installed completely on your windows, a central windows will open, where you will have to input your registration/ login details of your bitdefender online central account and it will synchronize with the bitdefender server and activate your product.
Make sure if you have the registration/ activation code it is already registered with the online central account.

IN SHORT BITDEFENDER FAMILY PACK IS EXACTLY SAME AS BITDEFENDER TOTAL SECURITY WITH LISCENCE KEY WHICH CAN SUPPORT ACTIVATION UP TO 15 DEVICES.

Thanks Flex. Tried the online installer, and that does exactly the same as i was getting previously.
tried the 64 bit offline installer. That reported bitdefender agent wasn't running, prompted to download it, then i get the same "Preparing your system" and the usual failure.
Ran the 64 bit offline installer a 2nd time and that has now worked.

hi, it was the family pack and from a link to the bitdefender website after using the "install on another device" option from the bitdefender control panel. it's now sorted after following Flex's suggestions, and had to use the offline installer.
