A Happy and prosperous New Year to everyone!

We think that a successful business has a lot to do with good communication. For us, the user’s opinion is paramount. The most valued feedback comes from you, the people that support and trust us.

The Widget’s return stands proof of our commitment to actively listen to the user’s voice and this is one of the many reasons for which this Community was founded.

As technologies and threats evolve, Bitdefender continues to proactively develop and shape its solution set. The resulting new solutions and feature modifications often lead to a need to discontinue older software revisions and products. In time, some features may come and go as well, but this will always be a part of growth and improvement.

So I ask you, what is that key product feature that you love the most and should NEVER retire from Bitdefender?

Let’s hear your thoughts below.

Cheers!

As a father of 2, I'd love to see our Product Team keeping and improving Parental Advisor in the Total Security Suite. Actually, my bet is seeing it separately would be even nicer. I'm now using Family Link for their mobile devices, but actually not using anything for my son's laptop (besides being the only one who knows the windows password 😈 ) + Anydesk, for good measure.

  • Safepay. Please never kill Safepay. I think I haven't been using it a lot lately, but i find it reassuring to know it's there, for when i need an extra layer of privacy, anti-screenshot protection etc.

I personally love the idea of a one-stop, simple, just plug it in solution like the Box. Knowing your whole network is protected, especially these days, is hugely reassuring.

No matter how advance technology or artificial intelligence becomes, we still need to stick to basics.

In todays world where every other second malware are getting created we have to make sure we have a best antimalware software installed on pc

We all know that not all antimalware companies can detect each and every bit of malware and what one sample may seem as malware to one av vendor may not seem to other.

That being said, today we have machine learning, artificial intelligence and behaviour blocking on every antimalware product available in market, be it from any vendor.

    But what's the catch....

The catch is that we cannot rely on these technologies to protect us from malware attacks everytime, these technologies also comes with majority of false positive.

So, whether it may sound old school, but there is one basic detection technology that will always stay forever, and that technology is based on the human mind, what we call as signature based detection in antimalware world, the most basic and the most useful detection technique that will forever stay.

Though with malware releasing every other second it may be hard to release signature based detection until the sample is recognised as malicious by malware researchers, but together with artificial intelligence, machine learning & behaviour blocking we might be able to tackle all security problems.

There are 2 things that I want bitdefender to bring back again...

    1) The free version for windows - though it stands nowhere near its paid version, but still it used to provide basic protection based on signature based engine created by malware researchers, cloud scanning and behaviour blocking.

Companies like avast, avg, avira and kaspersky are still continuing to offer free version. As a basic protection feature for low end PC bitdefender should reconsider in bringing back the free version. Removal of the free version has affected many users of bitdefender and I have seen on different forum people missing the bitdefender free product.

If bitdefender needs to genuinely remove any feature or product development, why not hold a poll section for this on various stages like social media websites, on its own website, on community forum etc, wherever the bitdefender company has its account. Let the people decide what they want and after collecting the data then bitdefender team can think whether to remove or let the product/ feature stay.

    2) Malware is not only limited to mac, windows and android. Infact, now linux OS isngetting target on larger basis with botnets and ransomware. i would request bitdefender to kindly bring back the linux version for consumers. it will be helpful for home users which use linux OS.

I hope Iwas able to provide some things that can be again be looked by the developement team.

    Regards
