Downloaded a game, trying to launch it and it doesn't because BitDefender is blocking a connection to the site, checked that URL on VT and only 3/91 AVs mark it malicious one of them being BitDefender.
Hello.
You could report the file/URL as false positive here:
Also, share the VirusTotal link here, as @mrmirakhur (who is in touch with the malware research team) and the malware research team themself could take a look about the detection.
Finally, you can follow the next steps:
First, take screenshot(s) of the detection
and create a log file on your Windows device using BDsysLog, by following these steps:
Next, contact Bitdefender Consumer Support by e-mail:
with short description of the issue.
After that, you will get an automated reply by the Bitdefender Customer Care Team, with your ticket number.
Now, in reply to that automated reply, you can send the screenshot(s) you already took and the log file you already created in the first step.
Since you are all done, just wait for the support engineers to investigate your issue with the detection and find a solution to fix the issue.
Remember that the screenshot(s) and the log file will help a lot to the support engineers for better and faster investigation on your issue and finding a solution.
Regards.
Hi @Robert Parker
Do you have the VT link you could post for @mrmirakhur to review.
You can also report it as a false positive and see if BD clears it and allows it.
Scott
Hello @Robert Parker and welcome to the Community!
Kindly fill out the form in the link below to report this detection to Bitdefender Labs:
The malware researchers will analyze the file and if it's a false alarm, detection will be removed.

@Alexandru_BD @Scott
This is the third time, i mean: this is the third comment he gets the same instructions from us. π
The only difference is that @Alexandru_BD forgot to tag @mrmirakhur. βΊοΈ
True that
@mrmirakhur what's up, how are things? π€£π€£
I think what happened here was that I've opened the thread in a new tab and it stood there for a while and forgot to refresh it before commenting, so only after posting I saw that you guys were already here π
Cheers and bless you!
It also doesn't help that I'm incognito on the forum, so many of my posts magically appear out of nowhere.
And then we have @Gjoksi who is like a posting ninja, one second there's nothing there, the next second there's an incredibly informational post, posted π
Was busy with some household stuff today, just surfed the community π
It's time to wait and see from whose post will the link be opened. Will it be @Gjoksi, @Scott or @Alexandru_BD
The battle begins π
lol, and I didn't even notice that Gjoksi had posted before me until I re-read this thread.
I tend to be incognito so no one can see that I'm posting (my fault), and some of the posts get posted so quickly that I forget to re-fresh the webpage to see if there was a post, posted. The only one I really see in a thread or at least in the sub forum posting, is Alxeandru (maybe I'm just not seeing the others?), so I know I can back off and wait to see what he says. We had about 2-3 overlapping posts today, and I deleted one yesterday when again I saw no one in the thread, but a post "magically" lol, appeared. I'm not doing a sour grapes thing here, or whining, but it can look messy on the forum and threads when this happens...so I volunteer to check in at night (central time US) and on the weekends occasionally to help avoid the posting confusion of 2-3 of the same posts in a thread? π
ππ
@Scott, using incognito is absolutely fine.
Look at the bright side. We are an unmatched team of Defenders that help others and I think this is fantastic. You guys are trully the pillars of this Community!
@Scott
Speaking of ninjas, here i am:
You all are the best, with a great sense of humor on top of it :) :)
Is your issue still persisting. Can you share the virustotal link.
