Did "Bitdefender snoozed" message ever get explained?

My windows 11 security keeps telling me that Bitderender is snoozed. I open it and it's running fine....I hope. I did a full scan and it seemed ok. How do I get rid of this message? Also, this morning, the firewall switch started turning off by itself. i can't deactivate windows defender and can't get that warning msg. to go away which makes me think there is a real problem. My other computers are fine as far as I know.

    Hello.

    -- STEP 1 --

Repair Bitdefender, by following these steps:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/13429/

    -- STEP 2 --

If the instructions from Step 1 didn't help, uninstall the Bitdefender program using the Uninstall Tool.

For Bitdefender Paid version click here:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/links/uninstall_consumer_paid.html

For Bitdefender Trial version click here:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/links/uninstall_consumer_trial.html

It will completely remove the program.

Next, reinstall Bitdefender from your Bitdefender Central account and see if the issue has been resolved, as reinstalling the program usually solves the issues.

    -- STEP 3 --

If the instructions from Step 2 didn't help, follow the instructions in this step.

First, take screenshot(s) of the issue

and create a log file on your Windows device using Bitdefender Support Tool, by following these steps:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/1733/

Next, contact Bitdefender Consumer Support by e-mail:

    https://community.bitdefender.com/en/discussion/91918/bitdefender-websites-and-bitdefender-consumer-support-contacts

with short description of the issue.

After that, you will get an automated reply by the Bitdefender Customer Care Team, with your ticket number.

Now, in reply to that automated reply, you can send the screenshot(s) you already took and the log file you already created in the first step.

Since you are all done, just wait for the support engineers to investigate your issue and find a solution to fix the issue.

Remember that the screenshot(s) and the log file will help a lot to the support engineers for better and faster investigation on your issue and finding a solution.

    Regards.

  • Hello @jct3531 and welcome to the Community!

Do you have any other security solutions installed, by any chance?

Does the Bitdefender interface display this messsage? "Your device is at risk" and if you click on the alert, the "Security Issues" window shows "Firewall is disabled" ?

Follow the steps from the article below and let us know if the information is helpful:

  • The interface says I am safe. I see the "snoozed" message when I check security through the laptop's Windows settings. My desktop is an Omen 30L and the laptop is an Omen 17cb003 if that matters. They both have windows 11 and similar apps. The desktop security settings are fine. Interestingly, the laptop completely froze yesterday while my mother was using it. I had to have an HP technician help do a system restore as it was stuck in a boot error loop and that Omen model has limited bios accessibility. After reinstalling bitdefender after the reset that "snoozed" message disappeared. I don't understand this as I had uninstalled and reinstalled bitdefender three times trying to get rid of that snoozed message and it was only after reinstalling windows completely that it went away. That sounds like a virus or malware. Is there any way to recover the security logs now that the PC has been reset? I had everything backed up in OneDrive.

Maybe when you reinstalled Bitdefender the last time, you got the latest version 26.0.23.80 which fixed the glitch.

    Just an assumption.

To verify the build version of your Bitdefender product:

    1. Right-click the Bitdefender icon in the System Tray (the Notification Area on the right-hand side of the Windows Taskbar, next to the Windows clock), and then select About. You can refer to the image below for help if you have difficulties finding the Bitdefender icon in the Windows notification area.
    2. The build number is displayed under Product information.

If the Bitdefender shield is green and if a system scan did not reveal anything suspicious, you have nothing to worry about. If a back-up is available, I am not sure exactly to what security logs you are referring to.
