Hi, in another topic they speak for update 27
🔄 An update has been released for Bitdefender Home solutions - version 27.0.1.13.
- This update includes backend changes that will allow further developments and improve support for the product.
You have another build
0 -
Yeah, i know that. It also confused me.
But, still i haven't received that build 27.0.1.13. 😊
When i'll receive that build, i'll let you know. 😉
Also, there are still no release notes for BD Mobile Security 3.3.193.2156, which i got yesterday.
@Alexandru_BD Any explanation on this?
Thanks.

Okay thanks to keep us updated 👏

Hi @Gjoksi,
The latest Mobile Security for Android changelog is now available on the release notes thread 😁
Changes were mostly done in the backend, but there are some notification-related improvements as well.
The build 26.0.32.116 is still the latest one, 27.0.1.13 is the next major update, but it has been postponed and it's scheduled to arrive in 2023, so consider it an insight, as I've rushed to announce it 😄

Hello my friends
Maybe you can help me. Since yesterday evening (probably after a virus definition update), Bitdefender is recognizing the file/installed tool "WinGetUI 1.6.0" respectively the installer "WingetUI.Installer.exe" as being malicious. I'd never had trouble before with this tool. This happens on both of my computers which means it is reproducable.
https://github.com/marticliment/WingetUI/releases
Is this eventually a false positive?
I'm running Bitdefender Total Security 26.10.32.123.
Thanks for your assistance in advance and best wishes, Uwe

Hi @gur_helios I just downloaded the exe, ran a BD update then ran a Contextual scan. BD flagged it. It took around 2:11 to scan the file. Virus Total had 2 red flags, none were from the major vendors, including Bitdefender.
Is that a newer version of WingetUI that you just upgraded to?

No, 1.6.0 is the current version released a couple of days ago already. And as mentioned, all started yesterday evening all of a sudden.

I just did a contextual scan with MBAM. No threats or PUPs found. So if you trust this program and you've been using it for a while, you could add it into AV and Advanced Threat Exceptions.

Hi @Scott
No, v1.6.0 is the current version of WingetUI released already a couple of days ago. And as mentioned, it started yesterday evening all of a sudden on both of my computers. Before that, everything ran smoothly and nothing got detected.
Addendum:
Yes Scott, I will make an exception for the tool 'cause the app is really helpful and outstanding. Thus, must be a false positive. Where can I/we submit the issue that the virus database is corrected?
1 -
If your PC is acting up, then let BD delete it (Take proper actions) when you run a scan. BD deleted it from my download file. Otherwise, see my above post :)

Ya, I'd completely removed all the remaining files from WingetUI 1.6.0 and ran several full scans after deleting WingetUI 1.6.0 and everything is fine. No other detections found. :)
1 -
Ya, I did that. BD was removing the "infected" files and I'd deleted all remaining ones from WingetUI 1.6.0 and ran several full scans and everthing turned out fine. :)
Do you know where I can submit the obviously false detection of Bitdefender AV to correct the virus database? After that, we would have a clean solution apart from creating an exception. :)

Good for you. In looking at a YouTube video about it, it looks like a nice and easy way to check for software updates and downloads. But, it is open source, and it is checking and downloading updates from multiple vendors, so in that regard, I may be a little leery of it.
If it was a software updater within Bitdefender, I would have a little more peace of mind. Otherwise, I tend to manually check each individual software for updates every now and then, or go directly to the vendors download page, or Microsoft Store for downloads :)

Yes, that's what I always do. I only download software from it's original source. :)

@gur_helios yes, my friend, false positives may be submitted here. It may be a way to save a software you like, if it turns out to be a false positive, and save other BD users a little grief :)

Thank you ver much, Scott. I'm gonna submit it. :)

Thank you Scott. I've just submitted it.

I submitted the file around two days ago, but by now it's still recognized as a malicious one called Generic.Application.Gsudo.A.3A454FB6.
VirusTotal says it is clean so far. Hope the virus databank is updated soon.

2 -
Yeah... short feedback. The database has been updated and Gsudo is not recognized as a malware anymore. 😊👍
3 -
Nice job, Uwe :) Who knows how many Bitdefender users you may have helped (going through the same thing), by taking the time to submit that file :)

Many thanks, Scott. I know to appreciate your words. :) But only with your help by showing me the website where I had to submit the false positive of the file Gsudo.exe. :)
Best wishes, Uwe

Interesting. We're now up to 7 red flags, compared to the two when I submitted it. Maybe they have to work out the FP on their, those vendor's end, too.

I see there is a new update coming soon (26.0.33.137) , can we expect a fix/solution for this high RAM when browsing with Edge ?? thx

Build 26.0.33.137 was already released on February 9th. And as usual, it is being deployed in stages.

Hello.
I just got the latest build:
NOTE: For me, a device restart was required for the changes to take effect.

Yep, I just got it, too, during this morning's coffee :)

How on earth you got the latest build the same day i got it? 😀
In the past, i've got it 2 or maybe more weeks before you. 😁
I still remember @Alexandru_BD once said to me "Just a note, mate, if you accept to be forum's moderator, you will be the first to get the latest build, before everyone else, even before @Scott". And that was the reason i said YES. 😂
Just kidding, buddy, just kidding. No hard feelings. 🤣

lol 😅😅😅 You should have never upgraded to 10, but no, you wanted to be a Mod who was up to speed and be even more helpful than you already are 😂😂

Update came in just now, Device needed a restart. 👍️
2 -
Do you still have this issue? You said you had only 5 tabs open, did you watch some twitch streams by any chance?
1 -
Hi, Issue is fixed , but don't know where the fix came from ; Bitdefender, edge , windows
and yes i watched a stream (footbal) on a website , but anyway the high Ram is gone now :)
thx

I think of you once in a while in this thread and of your desire for a changelog and of my giving excuses as to why it may not be done. Thank you for your persistence in "why not", as that thread (below) has been a very informative thread 😊
And thank you @Alexandru_BD, for doing such of good job of maintaining it 😊

Hello.
I just got the latest build:
NOTE: For me, a device restart was required for the changes to take effect.

3 -
Hi @Scott and thank you!
I do my best to post the updates and their relevant changelog in the dedicated thread as soon as they are available to me. Also, it is important to mention that some changes might be applied in the backend and those are not really relevant to the end user, but they do bring considerable improvements to the product lineup. I try to keep the thread as clean as possible and post only useful and clear information that is relevant for the end user 😊
I'm glad to hear the issue is fixed @RedsFan and does your username mean you are a Liverpool fan by any chance? 😄
Cheers!

Hi, guys.
Well, well, a new build has just arrived:
NOTE: For me, a device restart was required for the changes to take effect.
Regards.

lol, as I was typing in my PM to you all, Windows gave me the notice to turn on my AV, and I noticed the Widget had disappeared, then re-appeared...and yep, BD says it needs a restart :)
And since this thread rolled over into a new page, I thought I'd post the update, as @Gjoksi notified us about.
