Central and Subscriptions

Should I sign out after each session on Bitdefender Central?

Newbie here. Should I sign out after each session on the Bitdefender Central dashboard? Do you recommend a sign-in and sign-out each time I access it?

    Hi @Mom2Mike

If you're on your own home network, and no one else has access to your device, then you could stay signed in as to not have to re-sign again if you know you'll be back soon.

If you're in an environment where your device is shared by other family members and they are not using a Guest Account (Windows) then yes, I would log out just to keep your Central account safe. If you're on a mobile device, I would sign out when done, again, just for security's sake. This one one of the reasons paranoid Scott doesn't install the Central app on my phone, but then I am single, and am not monitoring other users on my account.

Maybe another member will chime in with their thoughts, too :)

  • I appreciate your "hand-holding" and reassuring me that it's actually pretty smart to log-out after each session. My MacBook Air is really only used by me, but I did feel uneasy about leaving it "open" all the time. Haven't installed BD on our other devices yet - taking things a step at a time, but will keep your advice in mind about them. Thank you very much.

  • I dont know how there is not a face id or password request option on Bitdefender Central app.

    How can this be?

    Please add this option.

Hello :) That is a good suggestion, Fernando.R. If you want to create a topic in the Product features and Ideation sub-forum and see what kind of response you get, is up to you. Those threads created in that sub-forum automatically get sent to the developers for consideration.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi,

I think Scott's comment sums it up pretty well:

If you are the only one who has access to the device where you are logged in, I don't see a problem. If there are any privacy concerns, simply logout and log back in when necessary. And if we are talking about good safety practices, lock the device while you're away. 🙂

I think this is more of a personal preference, depending on the environment in which the device is used (private/public/work) and who has access to it.. Personally, I don't think it's necessary to always be logged in Central, that is, you only need the application when you want to check certain notifications, or send a command to another device, or manage your subscriptions and so on. I think that if this isn't an application that you use daily, you can log out of it.

    Regards,
