Bitdefender accessibility turning off

I imagine this issue has been asked before, but I'm having an aggravating problem with Bitdefender on my Android phone. If I check the Accessibility section on my phone, Bitdefender is turned off. I've read this can be caused by battery optimization - the instructions I've found say to turn off battery optimization. Unfortunately, on my phone, it says Battery Optimization is not available. Within Accessibility, if I turn on Bitdefender, it doesn't stay on. If I go into Device admin apps, and turn off Bitdefender, I'm able to disable battery optimization. But when next I start the app, Web Protection is off. And Bitdefender accessibility is off.

At this point, I'm faced with an app (Bitdefender), that fails every time I check it. My phone is unprotected from web threats and I am forced to retrace my steps (battery optimization, and accessibility), to try to resolve this but I'm getting nowhere fast. Just when I think I've figured it out, the original problems happen again.

I have uninstalled Bitdefender several times, and I did a complete wipe and reset yesterday.

Could someone please tell me if I'm stuck with a product that won't protect my phone, or is there something else I could/should try?

    Here are a few things you can try:

    1) Make sure that Bitdefender is up to date. Go to the Google Play Store and check for updates. If there is an update available, install it.

    2) Restart your phone. This can often fix minor software glitches.

    3) Check your battery optimization settings. Even though you say that Battery Optimization is not available, it's still worth checking. Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization and make sure that Bitdefender is not listed. If it is, tap on it and select "Don't optimize."

    4) Clear the cache and data for the Bitdefender app. Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > See all apps > Bitdefender > Storage & cache. Tap on "Clear cache" and then "Clear storage."

    5) Reinstall Bitdefender. Uninstall the app from your phone and then reinstall it from the Google Play Store.

    If issue persists, kindly contact the bitdefender support by visiting https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/ and on the basis of your product selected and type of issue you are facing you can get in touch with support representative either by email, chat or over a call.

    If you choose email, you will get a ticket number on your registered email.

    The support team will reply back to the same email within next 24-48 hours excluding weekends.
