Bitdefender block several attempts of Edge to connect

Hi,

Starting with November 12th, 2023 Bitdefender is blocking Edge attempts to connect to some websites due to missing or expired certificates. Everytime I open Edge I receive the same notifications for Bitdefender:

  1. msedge.exe attempted to establish a connection relying on an expired certificate to deff.nelreports.net. We blocked the connection to keep your data safe since websites must renew their certificates with a certification authority to stay current, and outdated security certificates represent a risk. Add to exceptions
  2. msedge.exe attempted to establish a connection relying on an expired certificate to bzib.nelreports.net. We blocked the connection to keep your data safe since websites must renew their certificates with a certification authority to stay current, and outdated security certificates represent a risk.

I have only two extensions installed on Edge: LastPass and Bitdefender. I installed only three new applications: MadCap Flare, Articulate 360, and TeamViewer. I had to install TeamViewer because I needed it for a service provider to fix some errors on their application.

All my applications are licensed. I do not play online games, I do not watch online TV stations or ****** videos. I do not download pirated applications.

Any idea how to fix it?

Regards,

Sebastian

  • I have the same problem as Sebastian. Bitdefender Total Security blocks Microsoft Edge on start. The notice says, that i's certificate expired. How come Microsoft is keeping it's browser without updating the scurity certificate? Or this is a over reaction of Bitdefender? Edge is updated on my PC, which runs Windows 11 Pro. Is there a solution for this problem?

    Please advice!

    Thank you!
