No Ultimate Security Couples/Family Plan?

Evaluating security solutions for my wife and I (no kids). We want device protection plus identity theft. I see Aura has a couples plan, perfect. But comparing against BitDefender for features, etc. Doesn't BitDefender offer a plan like this? Thanks for any help.

    Hi @Diver4242

Bitdefender Ultimate Security only covers one identity, as it monitors one Social Security number.

You would need to buy a separate subscription to cover a second identity.

If you have any other questions, please post back.

    Kind regards,

The lack of a family or couples plan is disappointing. Even more disappointing is the lack of a discounted pricing structure for purchasing additional licenses for additional family members.

Until this year, this was not a personal concern as I was not married. I recently married and now I have to decide which of us is covered? As our digital world security continues to be attacked at an increasingly alarming rate, it would LAUNCH bitdefender to the head of the industry if a family/couples plan were made available. I am now researching my options for choosing a new provider since you don't offer this.

  • Hello @Hugh,

The Bitdefender Family Plans will soon be available for purchase on the official website. Here's how they look like:

The Family Plans will offer 5 accounts for Premium VPN, Password Manager and Digital Identity Protection.

    Hello @Alexandru_BD ,

For whatever reason, I did not receive notice of your response to my post until this evening. Irregardless, it is difficult to determine whether the new product offering will protect more than one social security number. So, I'll ask again, "Will the proposed new product licensing you shared here with the link you provided protect more than one social security number without having to purchase additional license(s) to protect all the users of the 5 user license?"

  • Hi and thanks for coming back.

The current plans include identity theft protection for only one social security number. The main difference between the Bitdefender Ultimate Security and Ultimate Security Plus is that the 'Plus' version offers up to $2 million identity theft insurance, and up to 3 bureau of credit report monitoring.

There is still no news about how the new portfolio will look, therefore I can't confirm whether the coverage will be extended for more users in the new offerings.

@Alexandru_BD the lack of protecting all of the licensed user social security numbers without having to spend the outrageously priced extra coverage is what continues to prevent me from using Bitdefender products. This is a deal breaker me, no matter how good the rest of the protection is.

  • Hi @Hugh,

I think we'll get there. Of course, I think the intention is to make the security suite more attractive compared to those that don't offer this feature. Something like this adds value to the package, thus plans which include multiple services alongside the security solution are already available and will continue to be developed, as specific user needs are identified and can be addressed by expanding some services. It should be noted here that certain services may also depend on other suppliers or partners, so their implementation as desired may take time, or may encounter certain limitations.
