VPN split-tunneling not working for websites
Hi!
I added a few websites to split-tunneling but they load only if I disconnect the VPN.
Why?
The sites see that I use VPN and are not loading if I don't use a working split-tunneling.
I have Bitdefender Total Security + unlimited VPN.
Thanks!

Problem solved after VPN reinstallation.

Now the problem is back.
I don't know why.
Sites set in split-tunneling do not load anymore.

Now they load.
But when I use Microsoft Edge and load hbomax.com, it redirects me to max.com
This does not happen with Brave or Chromium.

Hello @SorinRO,
Try to clear cache and cookies for the respective site and set split-tunneling for all known domains of the site, .com, .co.uk, etc.
Let me know if this worked for you.

I cleaned cookies and temp files (using Privazer) and restarted the PC.
Problem not solved.
I switched to Google Chrome, where I don't have problems.
The problems are just with Microsoft Edge.

It looks like the DNS was the problem.
It was set Google DNS in Edge, I set default option and now it works fine.

I was just about to suggest to check the DNS settings. 😅
Good troubleshooting nevertheless. 👍️

Good afternoon
I have enabled split tunneling for a website but unfortunately it does not work. I have tried it under Windows and IOS, and also different browsers such as Edge, Safari, Chrome and Firefox. What am I doing wrong?
kind regards!0 -
Hello @Bincky1975,
If the website cannot be reached despite the fact it was added to Split Tunneling, so it can bypass the VPN connection, the problem lies elsewhere and not with the VPN. Can the website be accessed if you turn the VPN off?
Do you get any error message or notification in Bitdefender? Because the antivirus might be blocking it instead. Or, the page might simply be unavailable at that time. In the event the antivirus is blocking the page for some reason, there are ways to exclude it from scanning as well. But it's important to know why the website is blocked, because if Bitdefender found something malicious on that page, setting up an exception is unlikely to work. There's also the possibility of a false positive, where the website is incorrectly detected by the security software, as this can sometimes happen. So, as you can see, there are multiple possible reasons and without knowing exactly what the page returns, it's difficult for me to advise here.If you can share more details regarding this block / inability to access the respective page, I can provide further advice and guidance.
