Bitdefender total security system scan results discrepancy

Hi everyone,

There is an issue with the system scan not showing the correct amount of items scanned in the app.

When completed a "system scan" the results shown in the app do not match with the results shown in central. However when adding all the scanned items shown in the xml system scan log it generates after the scan does show the correct amount that is shown in central.

This issue only seems to only occur with the "system scan" and not the "quick scan", the "quick scan" shows the correct amount of items scanned in the app results and in the central results.

I have already reinstalled my bitdefender total security and the issue remains.

I've contacted support about this issue and they had me run the "bitdefender supporttool.exe" to recreate the issue. I've sent them the support tool log file that was generated.

    I think this is something the Support engineers should be able to clarify, punctually. The support tool logs should reveal exactly what's going on there.

    Update: support has let me know that they're aware of this issue an working on a fix.

    "As mentioned previously on the ticket, a fix for this Bitdefender behavior is still undergoing development. We do not have an estimated time for the release of the fix yet, but we will contact you as soon as it's implemented by an automatic update of Bitdefender. Please keep in mind that all reported bugs require investigation time. Since product updates are usually released once a month it may take at least 1 month until a fix is implemented in the product - this does not include the debugging period."

    I'll update this post when I have more info about the fix.
