VPN disconnecting

Hi All

My Bitdefender VPN keeps disconnecting rsndomly and I keep getting error 8200 broken tunnel. I have reinstalled several times and logged in and out several times. I tried the flush DNS and that seemed to work for a day or two but after that its started again. I cant find any reference to error 8200 in the FAQ's or community

Thanks

    Hello,

I could not find any article or forum solution, either, than what could be tried from the article, which it sounds like you already did.

In this case, I would contact support from here:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/help/

Select, How Tos & Troubleshooting→Troubleshooting and go through the prompts until you get to the black Contact Support box. You will have the the options of Chat, Call or Email. Chat is the quickest way to get thing started, phone support is not toll-free.

    Kind regards.

  • Hi @joebreen

I have contacted support and after a few sugestions not working most of which I had tried already they cam back to me with this.

To change the protocol used by the VPN app from automatic to one of the ones listed below and keep trying until it works. I started with the wireguard as it is the newer protocol and So far it is holding I some times get an error 9 on start up but after that it seams to be holding I will give it a few more days to be sure but it was disconnecting a couple of times an hour before hand hope this helps joe

Thank you for posting back your results, @Gerry136 that is very helpful for us all :)

Granted, that is not a solution but a work around for the time being, until the engineers hopefully find a more satisfactory resolve, where the switching protocols isn't necessary but can be left on Automatic.
