My Bitdefender did not catch and protect my android tablet against Mcafee alerts pop ups...why?

    Like the article says, this type of pop-up is a browser-based scam that uses fake alerts stating that your device is under attack or infected to trick you into subscribing to unneeded paid services. I think some clarification is needed here.

    The notifications and pop-ups in this situation do not have anything malicious attached to them (hence the absence of detection), but when you click on them, they will redirect to malicious sites that try to collect your data or install abusive or dangerous software.

    Bitdefender cannot take any direct measures related to this type of notifications, such as adware that you agreed on or something you enabled, like site setting, site notification, redirects in your browser or installed toolbars, extensions or applications.

    Simply follow the instructions from the article shared by Flexx and you should be fine.
