    Hi @Ronald 1948

When you start the VPN on a Windows PC, the icon with a green check mark will be displayed in the System tray. You can also hover your mouse over your connections, and it will show the VPN 2nd connection.

I suppose you could also open the app and minimize it to the Taskbar, and open and close it from there.

    I hope this helped :)

  • On startup on my PC Win 11, VPN does not start. Program file list just shows blank image under Bitdefender.

I uninstalled and downloaded VPN but installation does not activate.

    Please assist

    Hello @Andy Gillison,

The Startup/Automatically Launch option only configures the VPN application to run at startup. It does not set it up so that it automatically connects to a VPN server. Basically, the respective setting launches the VPN application at Windows startup, but it does not actually establish the VPN connection. Practically, through this feature it is no longer necessary to double-click on the application icon to access it.
The logic behind this process is that the Internet traffic is not made immediately after starting the operating system, as such we assume that the VPN connects when the Internet connection is established.

The VPN will only reconnect automatically if you put the device in a Sleep or Hibernate state while the VPN is connected.

  • installation does not activate. - What do you mean here? So you have uninstalled the VPN app, then download it again and tried to reinstall it and the process doesn't start?

  • Thanks Alexandru_BD

This is encouraging. However, there is still no green tick in the Bitdefender icon that suggests VPN is operational.

To be on the safe side, I am going to use brute force and uninstall and reinstall Bitdefender with the hope that VPN will connect and display as before.

Thanks everyone for your assistance. Now exiting.

Can you elaborate on this breach, please?
Kindly open a new thread as this one is related to the VPN app.
