ethminer-m1 quarantined by Bitdefender

I was looking Inyto ETH mining and came across

Bitdefender immediately quarantined due to Application.MAC.Generic.2154.

Any advice?

  • It's a coinminer, and the detection is correct. You can also see the VirusTotal link, which shows various antimalware vendors detecting the file.

    If you want to continue using the file, you need to set it in the exception list in your Bitdefender product. Have a look at the link stated below.

    Well, I think it's already known that security solutions don’t usually get along well with coinminers, primarily because of the security risks involved, system resource consumption, and potential malicious use associated with cryptocurrency mining.. of course, coinminers can have legitimate uses, but an antivirus will most likely be on the side of caution due to the high risk of abuse.
