Kindly check if the steps below help:
CASE 1: It may be linked to the McAfee product itself.
1) Use the McAfee standalone uninstaller developed by McAfee, which can be downloaded from
2) Restart your PC in safe mode. You can follow this guide:
3) As soon as the desktop opens, assuming your Windows drive is 'C,' open the following locations in the 'Run' command (Windows icon + R) one by one:
C:\Program Files (delete any folder with the name McAfee)
C:\Program Files (x86) (delete any folder with the name McAfee)
C:\ProgramData (delete any folder with the name McAfee)
C:\Users{your PC name}\AppData\Local (delete any folder with the name McAfee)
4) Open the Run command (press the 'Windows + R' key on your keyboard) and execute the following commands one by one:
temp - delete all the files in the folder
%temp% - delete all the files in the folder
prefetch - delete all the files in the folder
5) Run Disk Cleanup using this guide:
6) Open the registry editor through the 'Run' command (Windows icon + R) and then type 'regedit.' Once the registry editor opens, click on 'Edit' -> 'Find,' and make sure to checkmark 'Match whole strings only.' Type 'McAfee' in the search box and click 'Find Next.' If any file or folder with the name 'McAfee' is found, delete it. Continue searching the registry and deleting until the search reports no registry keys found.
7) Restart your PC in normal mode by deselecting the option you selected while running the system in Safe Mode, then click 'Apply.'
CASE 2: It may be linked to McAfee adware and not the McAfee product itself. Check the links below:

1st of all uninstall McAfee with it's uninstall tool or use revo uninstaller pro's free version in Safe mod if it's already been deleted, it ll wash all of the McAfee's leftovers.
https://www.revouninstaller.com/
Switch on All security mechanisms of bitdefender 1st including port scan in firewall settings. do not exclude anything from bitdefender's real time scanning.
Plz perform the Rescue Environment scan.
Then create a custom scan by switching on All the security options including all of the drives , do not forget to switch off '' scan new and modified files only :if nothing is found then use your pc with all the B.d. security features enabled, if the malware is there it ll be handled by bitdefender's continuous monitoring or it ll not be able to damage your device.
i had a prb in my windows files , which was shutting down my windows 10's security repeatedly, tried many software ,hell of fresh re installations of win 10, nothing worked, i installed bitdefender and the problem was fixed, it never let my windows files become corrupted.
Anyway fresh re-installation of the windows will be the best option, install bitdefender right after installing the windows, keep the product & windows updated.plz let me know after the tests.
best regards

Thanks Flexx
It took me a while to figure out all the steps involved. Seems to have stopped the virus popups.
