Split Tunneling does not appear to work

edited December 2024 in VPN

Has anyone else encountered any issues? I have a geo restricted website setup in split-tunneling but when I try to login, I get blocked every time unless I completely disconnect from VPN.

To get immediate update, make use of the chat option.

Also, ensure you do not have any ad-blocker or privacy-blocker extensions enabled, as they might prevent the chat window from appearing.

  • I found another post for this problem and it does answer my question… so I guess you can close this post.

The sad reality is that if you're trying to access geo-blocked content while connected to a VPN, you will be blocked since it's possible for them to identify the VPN if they dig deep enough… even if you setup that site in split-tunneling.

Even if you are physically located in the unblocked region trying to access a site/service with geo-blocked content, it looks like you need to completely disconnect from VPN for the duration. So unless VPN providers figure out how to completely mask themselves, split-tunneling is becoming more and more useless. And IMO, the days of using VPN to access geo-blocked content from abroad are numbered.
