How can I remove the File Shredder in the "right-click" menu?

When I right-click an archive I get the chance to scan it with Bitdefender or use the File Shredder, how can I remove the File Shredder from the right-click menu? I'm only interested in scanning the archive. This can probably be done in the Registry Editor, can anyone point me in the right direction on where I should be looking in the Registry Editor?

This is what I'm talking about btw.

  • Hello,

As far as I know, the File Shredder cannot be removed from the context menu.

To add, while you cannot remove it, you can try hiding it using the software listed in the link provided below.

  • Thank you, I already had Easy Context Menu v1.6 installed on my PC but I don't see any option to remove it with that software, I believe this is done from the ContextMenu Cleaner option, correct?

I don't see anything there regarding Bitdefender:

Which option should I disable to hide the File Shredder?

Bitdefender has multiple options in the contextual menu (Scan, USB immunize, shredder etc.). They are all implemented inside the same dll, not separately. What can be done is to set up an option to enable/disable File Shredder contextual menu (default ON) so the explorer context menu handler dll will read it and not load the shredder items if this is OFF. I will propose this to the team.
