Enable rootkit scanning?

Hi. I have the Internet Security product on Windows 11. Just ran a Rescue scan. After the scan, under 'Scan Options' under 'Target Threat Types', it showed 'Scan For Rootkits' was set to 'No'. Of course I want it to scan for rootkits! I looked in scan settings for a rootkit option but can't find it. Is there a way to enable rootkit scanning? Or does it require a different product? Thanks….

    Hello.

The "Rescue Environment" feature comes preconfigured to not check for rootkits.

Not being in windows, it's irrelevant to specifically scan for rootkits, the malware that hides as a rootkit in windows will not be able to hide outside windows, and can be found with a casual scan.

Quick Scan and custom scans do not search for rootkits, while a System Scan does.

    Hello @CookieA

I know I'm a little late to this thread, but @Gjoksi did a wonderful job, and answered your question. The manual mentions the rootkits scan during a System Scan, even though the Scan Log file doesn't mention it. Maybe they should?

    Cheers :)
