Hi! I have Windows 11 Pro and recently installed Windscribe VPN. I hope someone can help with this. This is the message I'm getting…

Windscribe has detected that bdntwrk is using a high amount of CPU due to a potential conflict with the VPN connection. Do you want to disable the Windscribe TCP socket termination feature that may be causing this issue?

Thank you for the prompt reply! I appreciate it! Yes, you are right, it is a legit Bitdefender process. I was wondering if there was a way to have Bitdefender not conflict with it? Change a setting or add some exception for this without compromising security? I know it's not recommended to disable the TCP socket.

As far as I know that's a legit Bitdefender process, and what Windscribe is showing can happen when the VPN force-closes or resets active connections while it’s connecting or disconnecting. Since Windscribe is specifically pointing to its TCP Socket Termination feature, that would be the first thing I’d look at..

In Windscribe, click yes to disable TCP Socket Termination and see if the CPU spike still happens. Then make sure both Bitdefender and Windscribe are fully updated. Restart the PC and test again after reconnecting the VPN.

Keep an eye on Task Manager to see if the high CPU settles down after a minute or two. If it still happens, a reinstall of Windscribe may help in case there’s a driver/network adapter conflict.

So at least from what you described, I think this looks like a compatibility hiccup between the two apps.

If bdntwrk.exe keeps spiking CPU even after disabling that Windscribe option, then it’s probably worth opening a support case with Bitdefender and sending them logs so they can check the interaction more closely.
