  • Hey DanyDan, I am having this problem with BitDefender IS2011 not detecting my internet connection also. I ran the uninstall tool, cleaned the registry, and reinstalled, but it won't allow registration or activation. Everything went so smooth on my Win7 x64 laptop, but now on my Win Vista x64 I have nothing but problems. Can I get help with the registration tool?

    I am having the same problem on a full version of Bit Defender Internet Security 2010 with Windows XP SP3 32 bit system. The computer had McAfee Antivirus, which I removed. I cannot connect through BitDefender to activate or update. Error message says that there are invalid server or proxy settings. I tried disabling both the Windows and BD firewalls, and still could not connect through BD. My internet connection is definitely fine, though, and working. Please help....

    Hi DantDan, I am having difficualty understanding why everyone has to come and ask you for the instructions and the patch. Given that so many people are having the same problems, why is this not in a post with a link to the patch.


    In another post of mine, to solve the problem of BD toolbar coming and going you suggest that I migarate to BD 2011 but when I see that so many are having problems with this I am reluctant to migrate until all the problems have been sorted out and a proper working release is available that also addresses the problem of vsserve constantly crashing. I ould not like to solve one problem to have another created.


    Will it be possible to post when such aclean release is available or should I not be holding my breath?

    Still no anwser from DanyDan/Bitdefender... BUT:


    I tried again, after filling a customer support form (to try that road...), where they ask you for the specific error message.


    So I typed in again and long story short, I'm now activated.

    I am having this problem as well. It occurred first when I reloaded my computer with IS 2010. I saw there were tons of new issues with the 2010 updates, so I completed an uninstall then upgraded to IS 2011. The inability to activate, register and update still continues. I've disabled my firewall and attempted to activate and register, to no avail. I get the same message each time I initiate communication with BD.


    Vista SP2


    32-bit OS


    using TWC aircard for internet connection

    Please try to Update BitDefender before you ask for help again. The issue was resolved with a BitDefender update earlier this week.


    Right click on BitDefender icon and select 'Update Now'. Wait for the process to complete then restart the PC. Check if the issue persist. If so, post in here and I will send you instructions on how to resolve it.

    I replied to your instructional email on 9/24, but as of yet have heard no response. The 'fix' did not work, and I've followed the instructions to the letter several times now. In regards to your suggesting above that I update BD first before asking for help ... my first post addressed this issue. I cannot update because I get the same message as when I try to register and activate. I have uninstalled, used cc cleaner, then installed again so many times I've lost count.


    Is there something else I can try?

    I'm experiencing the same problem with the registration / activation issue because of undetected internet connection. Can you please send me the tool to help me register and activate my BitDefender.


    I already turn off the firewall but stil experiencing the issue.


    I'm using windows 7 32bit and shared internet connection using router.

    I would first like to see a log from your PC, if you don't mind. Follow the steps explained in THIS article then send me a PM with the generated log file.

    I've just formatted my pc & reinstalled total security & bitdefender is saying my license has expired leaving my pc vulnerable when it clearly hasn't expired, I've been using it for maybe 100 days. And what is even more frustrating I can find no contact for support in tn England, each link I click doesn't work or says page expired.


    Please help, I must be able to use my pc every day & obviously can't with no a/v

  • I am a brand new user, having switched from many years of absolutely flawless functioning and service from another reputable anti-virus software company. I switched due to reading a good review coupled with your price - a value equation. And, after hours of struggling to get the software installed - since there was no proactive alert/readme or written information, I finally did an online search. And, I eventually ended up here. Needless to say, there seems to be a common problem that I too am facing. My error received (Win 7 x 32) is:


    "product activation with the license key and the bitdefender account you have provided failed because no internet connection has been detected" - YET I too have a perfectly good Internet connection over which the registration succeeded, but the ACTIVATION fails. I guess, I need your patch. And, I hope that I can quickly get this resolved, as have already put more time into this installation then I did over the past 7 years of anti-virus application installation/renewals COMBINED. <img class=" />

    I need the patch/update. Please send above-mentioned instructions ASAP. Same problem. Am running Anti-virus only, no firewall to disable...need patch. Hoping that the weekend does not prevent me from receiving this update pronto. I can provide registration detail as necessary; registration succeeded, activation didn't.

    I cant register / activate either! just installed Total Security 2011 and it wont update and I cant register, it keeps telling me I have "no internet connection" but I do!

  • Tomas the patch I've sent you will ask you to enter an email address to register BitDefender. In other words you will use (Open) the tool in Windows safe mode, will type in your email then restart the computer as you would normally do. After restart your BitDefender will be automatically registered. Please check your email for instructions as mentioned in my last post.


    I've tried anything you can imagin, please send me the patch link too Danny, My product is not activated and Now I can't even update, it says I should activate first.

    MH. Keivan: I have already sent you the patch, please check your email and let me know if you got my message or not. Considering the fact that the email contains an attachment (patch exe file), some emails providers may block the messages.


    Seanburke: What is your Internet Connection type ? Please post a screenshot of the error you receive when trying to register BitDefender. Mask your license key if included in the screenshot !

  • i just upgraded from 2010 to 2011 internet security and license is now "pending activation". But the funny thing is I NEVER received the email to activate the license. Any idea why I did not receive the activation email. This happened to me twice now.

  • I'm not if this is the same problem as the member above but after I renewed BD2011 today with about 9 days to go, I now keep getting a critical error message and to submit a report. When I do get the opportunity to open BD, it shows 0 days remaining. If I do get to the activation page, I get the no internet connection error.


    I'm running W7 64-bit.

  • Hi I'm having a problem of a different kind on BDIS2011, when I install bit defender it gets to the page where it asks for a license key, I enter the license key and it tells me registration was successfull, but when i try to activate it tels me my key is invalid, Ive tried using a different e-mail but to no avail,

    Every single time i try to activate or register the product it tells me it cannot detect an internet connection, to connect to the internet.

    I have just purchased Bit defender 2011 internet security for 3 computers (2 years) Installed it on my pc and everything went well until I went to create a account so I can get updates and such... it is telling me that there was no internet connection detected! NO SO! can somebody please help me out here....


    I am running windows 7 home edition(not sure if it is 64bit or 32bit how do I find that out?)


    also I have to install this program on the other 2 computers and don't want to do so until EVERYTHING is good to go!

    Hello,


    First of all I wish to apologize for the late reply.


    eyebeem, sov & Jeannie:


    For the "No internet connection message" please check the following:


    1. Open BitDefender in Expert View > go to Update module > click on Update now


    *If the update is working please go to the next step.


    *If the update is giving you an error message: -1004 Could not connect to proxy or server you should check for Proxy Settings in your browser and configure BitDefender accordingly


    2. Please go to MyAccount and try to log in with the same email and password.


    *If it is working please go to the next step


    *If it is not working please click on Forgot your password link and follow the instructions to reset it


    3. If you are using special characters (e.g *,@, $, etc) or a space in your password please change it with one which contains only numbers and letters. To change your password, log into your account, go to MyAccount from the left side and click on Modify Password


    4. Please turn off any Firewall which could block your connection to our authentication server:


    - turn off BitDefender Firewall: form Expert View > Firewall module > uncheck "Firewall is enabled" for 15/30 minutes


    - turn off Windows Firewall from Control Panel


    - turn off any other Firewall software you are using


    - if you are using a router connect to it, check if it has a Firewall and turn it off


    then try again to activate BitDefender.


    I hope the above guidelines will help you to activate your BitDefender product. However, should you need further instructions please reply.


    @tazzietech:


    This issue usually occurs when something from your computer or the system privileges are not allowing you to modify the registry keys and store the license key info.


    I've sent you an email - Ticket ID: 201102021045573 - with step by step instructions on how to set permissions in Safe Mode on the keys BitDefender need to modify.


    @PDB: the critical error message you are receiving is indeed a different issue. This message informs you that a BitDefender process crashes and a dump file was created. When you are submitting these files to us, they are redirected directly to our Development team for further investigation.


    Usually, when a main BitDefender process crashes, the license and activation email are not read until you are restarting your computer due to the fact that the BD processes are not communicating properly.


    In order to find out why you are receiving these reports we will need to analyse the dump files. I have created a ticket (201102021044822) for you and sent you step by step instructions for gathering the logs we need. Please reply to our email with the log files attached.
