Network Adapter Settings Missing On Reboot

I am having this problem, intermittently, on reboot. I installed Is2011 3 weeks ago on a new Win7 64bit HP notebook.

I checked that I have the latest driver for the Atheros AR9285 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter. Windows Network and Sharing shows that it is connected to the same profile as before reboot.

I notice this when I send something to my networked printer. The wireless adapter is there but the previous setting of Trust All is now Public and the static IP address of the printer (which I allowed) is gone.

This is early in my tracking of the problem. It is annoying more than anything else.

On this last reboot for MS updates there was no problem. Perhaps with this massive update from MS something stabilized.

I will do as many reboots over the next few days as my schedule allows and will reply as requested with the dump when this intermittent problem happens again.

  • I believe that the issue occurs for the same reason I've seen it so far: the drivers for the adapter were not a version supported by your OS or was not the latest version compatible. I also believe that with the MS updates the driver was updated (you can check the Windows Updates History).

If the issue re-occur (I believe it won't) please let me know. I will close the topic and consider the case closed.

    Kind regards,
