  • Thanks, Rohugh. I am glad it is not just me who couldn't find a "Stop Scan" button for a USB drive. It's not just you. There is no (graceful) way to stop a USB device scan.
  • Here's a link to a thread with Bitdefender's comment on Cryptolocker.
  • Hello! Have you already checked this setting to make sure that's not what's hiding them? Unfortunately Bitdefender reports things that aren't viruses as viruses so you may be OK.
  • Also take a look in the Windows logs to see if there are any errors that point you in the right direction. Not launching at all is unusual and very frustrating.
  • It sounds like you're doing all the right things. I just went through a troublesome installation of a different product so I know how frustrating it is. I'm not defending Bitdefender when I say this but because it installed on your other rig, the other symptoms you experienced, and what you've tried I'd be ready to look at…
  • So i can use BOTH bitdefender and malwarebytes PRO? some say its not good to have 2 security software and some others say that malwarebytes should be use with an antivirus... IF real time protection for both together is good i will buy malwarebytes pro too Yes. Bitdefender will tell you it's not compatible. When I opened…
  • That is normal behavior. Bitdefender and Malwarebytes by design do not detect the same types of malware. For better protection you should upgrade to the Pro version of Malwarebytes which allows it to detect in real time.
  • Don't waste your time here or with Bitdefender support. Go to the Malwarebytes forum and one of many patient experts will walk you through a process to determine if you have any infection or PUP. https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showforum=7

  • I think you've overly complicated your systems to the point where anyone that wants to help is going to need a three day training course just to understand the layout. When you say you reinstalled Windows 8 to work around Secure Boot/UEFI that tells me that you may not have a firm grasp on what it is and what it does so I…
  • You only need to buy Internet Security if you need the additional features. If all you need is an antivirus then buy Antivirus Plus. Here's a link to product comparison: http://www.bitdefender.com/solutions/antiv...comparison.html Download the free trial and use it for awhile before you purchase to make sure it's what you…
  • Thank you for the response. When the program goes back into AutoPilot mode the setting to not autoscan reverts. FYI: I had an online chat with support and there is no graceful way to stop the process.
  • So for someone like me who NEVER goes online without a sandbox enabled and doesn't download or run questionable programs unless I'm sure of the source, the AVC is probably something that won't affect my over security if it were disabled correct? I say you don't want to disable it. Sandboxie is interesting, but you're…
  • As a trialing user of antirusplus (previously had panda and vipre) I've encountered system running slow since installing bitdefender and browser mail system almost to a standstill. Was told by bitdefender support to remove malwarebytes pro and trustseer rapport. Am uneasy about doing this and question compatibility of…
  • Hello everyone, I would like to ask you if this error still persists when starting Rescue Mode. According to our Development team, the issue should be solved at this moment through automatic update of Bitdefender. I reinstalled BDIS to see if the issue was resolved and for my PC it is. It can now boot into Rescue Mode.
  • I'm interested if Bitdefender can resolve this and would appreciate if someone posts the solution here. I'm not sure it's enough to make me come back as a customer but it would be nice to see Bitdefender have a win and address a problem that's going to become more of an issue as folks replace their PCs with newer ones. If…
  • hello, the BD uninstaller should be run in windows safe mode. then it should install properly again once you restart the computer. I guess that explains why when I uninstalled Bitdefender it left 256 MB of files and kept trying to create a startup task. I downloaded and ran the uninstall tool and if that's not enough then…
  • I give up. I'll follow up with Amazon to see if I can get a refund.
  • Does this post from the forum apply? From the thread (emphasis mine): 2. Rescue Mode supports Windows XP, 2003, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8. Note that some newer computers (sold after Windows 8 was released) use UEFI at boot and UEFI does not support booting Linux systems (including Rescue Mode). We are investigating a…
  • @ Georgia - Thank you for the response. I've posted the ticket number in the other thread since the symptoms are different. Let me know if you prefer that I use this thread for my issue. Thx. http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=48606
  • Thank you for the reply. I just sent my support tool files in a day or two ago. I'm not familiar with the "update re-boot blues" so I'll take a look around and see what it is. I'm not having the patch install loop you mentioned. If support comes back to me with something I'll come back and post it here.
  • Thanks for the speedy reply and warm welcome, I looked at the link and I will not buy the pro licence and save some money many thanks once again Hello! I recently opened an incident with Bitdefender asking the same question. I received the same boilerplate reply as in the other thread, including typos. I'm running…
  • Thank you for the response and information.
  • I have the same issue and opened an incident. My question is: Is there any resolution from the case in this thread that can be publicly shared?
  • No way to edit posts? Yikes! I re-ran my steps to make sure I didn't make a mistake and sure enough I did. The exclusion worked in both Windows accounts. No more testing AV while trying to put the kids to bed. I'm still cranky that I had to do this at all. Between support and the manual it should have been clearer.
  • Wow. Getting a clear response from support is like pulling teeth so instead of being lazy I started my own testing. New Bitdefender Total Security on Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I haven't got through all the manual yet so I apologize if these are covered. I created a folder called Virus in a folder called Temp. 1. A Standard…
  • I'll add my thanks to this thread. I'm running MBAM Pro version with no issues but I'll add these exclusions because I'm not able to (yet) get a good response from either company about compatibility with the other for this new version of Bitdefender.
