Hi Charyb, As you probably remember, I use the free version of CCleaner along with Bitdefender AV Plus 2013. I have had problems with CCleaner "freezing up" in the past, and I still do on occasion. I have done and still do two things which "usually" helps. The first one is, I have unticked the option under "Options >…

Never mind. I figured it out. Somehow, the "Show Bitdefender Toolbar" had been changed to "Off" under "Settings > Privacy Control" in the Bitdefender GUI. I've changed it back to "On" and it's good to go now.

And be kindly informed that Bitdefender takes proper actions for all On-Demand Scan Tasks and the user can't change the settings of On-Demand Scans (Contextual Scan, AutoScan, Full Scan Quick Scan, Device Detection Scan etc), what a great feature and comfort, isn't it? Hmmm.....well, I guess if I didn't trust Bitdefender…

Kindly be aware some points 1) There is no Schedule Scan option, its alternative is AutoScan 2) There is no settings available for all Scan Types (Full, Quick etc) unfortunately. 3) But you can create Custom Scan Task. 4) On-Access Settings only affect Real Time Protection and not any of the Scan Tasks. Hi ONT, Per your…

Thanks, ONT. Your suggestion sounds as though keeping BOTH the "Scan HTTP" and "Scan SSL" options enabled....but to disable "Scan SSL" IF there is a problem that arises with a particular web site as a result of it being enabled.....is that correct?
-
Speaking of SSL scanning...I seem to recall reading a thread recently in this forum where SSL scanning wasn't necessary, and users were being encouraged to turn that off as well....is that correct? I don't think this has been seen....so I just wanted to bump and emphasize it in a separate post. And ask a bit of a follow-up…

No. Navigate to Antivirus > On-Access Scanning > Modify > Traffic Scan > Scan http traffic, just un-check it and verify if the issue persists. Alright, thanks. I'll give it a try. Speaking of SSL scanning...I seem to recall reading a thread recently in this forum where SSL scanning wasn't necessary, and users were being…

Thanks for your help, Scott and ONT! The links you shared are invaluable, Scott, and are very much appreciated! And by disabling "Scan http traffic", you mean to turn off "Scan SSL" under Privacy Controls....correct?

Hi SportsFan I didn't see you original post There are times when a bigger downloaded file that has been scanned, or that it is a disc that I know is reputable, that I disable BD (and in the past other AVs) just to make sure the install goes unhindered. So I can't tell you concerning the initial install issue, but on an…

Apparently I'm good at stumping the Bitdefender crowd. By the way, I tried to send Georgia and Christian a PM to ask them something separate from this, and received a message saying that they couldn't be sent any messages...or something along those lines. Anybody know what is up with that???

I am using the English version of Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2013 and can also add that Google search is not working in IE10 or Firefox 20.0.1. Yahoo and Bing searches do work in IE10 and Firefox, but not Google searches. Also, Google search DOES work in Google Chrome but not in the others (Firefox 20.0.1 and IE10)

Hi...Yes that's right, when you see the spinning arrows, BD is checking for updates and if it finds some it will take whatever action you have set for it. From the main interface...Settings->Update->Update processing rules. ....To see exactly what updates were downloaded...From the main interface...Events->Update->Click on…

Bueller? ......Bueller? ......Bueller? Anyone?

You're welcome, glad to hear it I wish they would put the little green traffic lights in this version, as they do in the free version. Otherwise, it can be easily to overlooked, and not seen, until you know where to look. Have a great weekend Columbo Thanks for explaining this feature, and where to find it, columbo. I also…

...when I blocked cookies in Chrome that I received the white screen. I just set cookie settings to high in IE10 and received the white screen. If you haven't change these settings from default then this probably isn't it. Is there an extension for IE10 now that can block cookies? Hi Charyb....I'm not sure if IE10 has any…

Yeah you are right, I am also facing the same issue with IE10 and it seems that there may be some compatibility issues with the IE10 and Bitdefender. e.g Sandbox, SSL certificate issue etc, but there was no such issue in near past. Let see what Georgia says next. It worked fine for nearly 2 days.....and then started…

Thanks for the replies and for the help and advice. I appreciate the tutorial link describing how to schedule a scan using Windows Task Scheduler. Thanks very much for that! As for the MyBitdefender link.....it DOES open when using Google Chrome......but through IE10 (my default browser), it now starts off white...but then…

Thank you for this information and for your help, Georgia. That makes sense, and is good to know. I have noticed something extremely odd, though. I've been using Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2013 for a couple of days now....and I have always been able to access "MyBitdefender". I've accessed it numerous times, either through…
