I'm running Windows 7 (64 bit). Will I have to run in Rescue Mode to detect all (known to BD) rootkits? What exactly does Rescue mode do? Any web page that describes this mode of scanning? Aloke

Some more details. This forum refuses to accept the attachment (I renamed it to "Infected - xxxxx.zip"), probably rightfully so. I uploaded the zip file to the false -ve link at the top of the forum, which created an email support ticket. Haven't heard back. On a full system scan, BD detected (and quarantined) the trojan…

You might be able to resolve this by going into Bitdefender Settings-> Privacy Control Settings -> turn "Scan SSL" off BitDefender is essentially using their own certificate to encrypt/decrypt web and email traffic if this setting is enabled. For some reason (looks too much like a "man in the middle" attack?), the OS and…

I think windows uninstall program is not enough to get rid of previous versions. By the way, what program did you use for uninstall? I used the tools listed here http://www.bitdefender.com/site/Downloads/...sumer_paid.html

That is a file. How do I test if BD is protecting me from scripts etc if I visit malicious or infected web sites? Edit: BD does warn me when I go to the download page of that site and try to download the various test files. Thanks.

I purchased BTS 2013 recently. Despite all the updating, my build # is 16.35.0.1936 Is this the latest version (as of January 10, 2014)? I tried all the steps in http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=198885 but still end up with this version above. I had to use the uninstall tool to completely remove BTS2013.…

I have gone through this process and I still end up with BitDefender Total Security Build 16.35.0.1936. I had to use the uninstall tool to completely remove BTS 2013 befeore installing the 2014 version. That worked.

Will this get included in Bitdefender at some point? Doesn't BD clean up malaware as well? Why should we have to depend on MalawareBytes to do this?
-
Thanks much.
-
Which list of files do you exclude in each scanner? How do you determine the files to exclude?
-
Thanks for the reply. Anyone here using the Free MalawareBytes and BDTS? Aloke

Can anyone tell me why is it failing the True Stealth Test? Erm...ignore the other question. My system is passing stealth test for all 1056 ports. With BDIS 2013

Serious process of elimination, plus a lot of reading anything that mentioned having even slightly close to to the same issues I was having. ... Holy cow!! I feel bad for you as any BSOD or failed boot raises my blood pressure and anxiety. I have an older Gigabyte board too (GA-X58A-UD5 (rev. 2.0)) but did not get similar…

Problem identified. It is the Gigabyte App center, or a component of, that comes with their current line of motherboards. Complete removal of the software allowed the scan to finish & the install to complete. .. How did you identify a specific app as the source of the conflict? Curious.

Why should duplicate files confuse BD so that it thinks it needs a boot-time scan? And then claim that it cannot fix what is apparently a non-existing problem? This needs to be addressed. There are other users in the "General" section that have their PC stuck forever in the boot-time scan and cannot get into Windows.

I'm not sure that specific update comes with regular Windows update. It could be a KB type which needs manual installation. Cristian Which KB# is it? I went through the other thread but could not locate the fix for this issue in thatthread.

My Win 7 x64 PC is always updated, especially the 2nd Tuesday of the month Windows Updates. I'll try SafePay again when I feel brave enough. BSOD's scare me.

Can multiple ports be listed in the step below? Here's how: 1. Create a Firewall rule for any application (it does not matter which…
