Thanks marklar45, that seemed to work for me.

Well, since the system isn't letting me edit my original post, I'll add this... I followed marklar45's suggestion here: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?sho...ost&p=81737 In that other thread, he suggested running an elevated CMD and "sfc /scannow" Whatever that does seemed to fix it. I'm still left doubting the…

Funny you should post this, because I just had printing problems today and posted about it, too. I get a "print processor does not exist" when trying to delete/reinstall my Brother laser printer drivers. I've already Googled and tried about a dozen different suggestions I found, but nothing works. I'm going to reinstall my…

@Chris S: Please make sure that the Windows date is set up corectly, then try to Update again BitDefender. Please also tell me if you are receiving the same message in Expert mode/Advanced view -> Update module. The date is set correctly, and I only use the BitDefender UI in Expert mode. I just tried updating again, and…

I've read through the last few pages of this thread, and nothing quite matches what I'm seeing, so... I got through the whole Trojan.FakeAlert.5 mess, got my quarantined files moved back, etc. I made a post about the system behavior I saw quite a few pages ago as I repaired/reinstalled BD. BUT...I'm not able to get it to…

For some reason, I can't edit the post I made on page 15, but wanted to add... Running the repair process WILL delete your list of quarantined files! So make sure and try to Restore them all before rebooting and maybe having to run the BitDefender repair process because it didn't start up correctly.

Well, I did the upgrade (from within BitDefender) and ended up with: Virus signatures: 5474032 Engine Version: 7.30848 (not 7.38048 as a previous poster reported, he must have made a typo) I re-enabled realtime scanning, and so far so good. I still have lots of files I cannot Restore from quarantine because there's already…

You have to realize that majority of the people are not computer gurus like some of us are. Exactly! People who are computer savvy enough to weed their way through this and get their systems working again are in the minority. What about all those people out there that bought BitDefender at their local Best Buy, Fry's, etc,…

Well, I just got done going through my entire list of quarantined files and trying to Restore them. Some were successful, most weren't. The ones that weren't successful are mostly BitDefender files, and some Windows files. It complains that there's a file with the same name already there. But what's weird is...it complains…

Created a forum ID just to post here. I'm having the same problems. Windows 7 64-bit, BitDefender 2010. Every file is being flagged as infected with Trojan.FakeAlert.5 (not "s" as somebody posted earlier...it's the number five at the end). I disabled realtime scanning, but there are a LOT of files already quarantined,…
