  • I have the same problem from time to time. It is a periodic problem with my system. But a lot of the time the BD icon in the lower right of my screen just isn't there. Or clicking on it when it is there does nothing. When this happens I have also tried to start the interface by using the shortcut on my desktop. Doesn't…
  • You say you removed AVG but did you use the AVG removal tool? If you didn't there might still be remnants of AVG left over that are causing a slow boot up.
  • Problem is back again tonight. After an on demand scan BD became unresponsive. My computer once again became extremely slow. Had to boot into safe mode and disable BD from starting up. Upon reboot all is well again except BD is not running. Something needs to be done to fix this soon or I will be finding another antivrus…
  • Same here. The problem is gone on my end also.
  • I use the BD Free. The past 3 days my computer (Win 7) has been running extremely slow at times. And my IE 11 keeps crashing. This seems to have started after some sort of BD update. If I turn off BD then my computer returns to normal. If I turn BD back on then my computer might run normal for a few minutes to an hour. But…
  • I'm happy for you. But this does not mean that there are no such problems in others. Just stating the fact that BD Free does work as advertised for some. Your post made it sound like it doesn't. Sorry it doesn't work as advertised for you.
  • It's instantaneous for me. I don't have any problem with BD Free.
  • You can turn off auto scan. It will stop scanning the drive all the time.
  • Are you sure it's not something else on your computer that's crashing the game? I am running that game as well as BD Free and I don't have a problem. If you have Malwarebytes then run a scan. That will pick up some items that BD Free won't. Sounds like you might have malware.

  • I don't use Windows 8.1 but have you tried changing the install directory?
  • Not sure. I just know that the above works for me. But I haven't had the problem in about 2 weeks. Probably just jinxed myself
  • I have the same thing happen from time to time. It's a glitch with the UI I believe. Just close out Bitdefender and then reopen it. Always solves the issue for me.
  • I just tried it for you and it worked on my system. I went to My Computer and right clicked on the C drive. Then chose Scan with Bitdefender. I then clicked on the Bitdefender icon in the lower right of my screen and it showed the scan was running. Actually it said it was scheduled. But if you look around the border of…
  • Hi Matt. I too just converted over to Bitdefender Free from Avast about 3 weeks ago. I couldn't be happier.
  • Personally I wouldn't even click on unsubscribe. Usually all that does is confirm your email address. I would just mark the unwanted email as spam.
