  • Can you define what means the word SUPPORT for you? Do you want someone to come to your house and install BD for you? Do you want someone to come and look if your computer is properly set up or if the operating system si not corrupted or if some hardware component is not defective? What was the problem that they didnt…
  • It is trying to activate the removable media scan pop up window whenever you enter a media such as: disc, floppy, usb, or external hard drive and it is most likely freezing up your pc. There is an option that allows you to deactivate the removable media scanning window, but haven't found it. Will post back when I do. It is…
  • The settings work for the real time scanner, but still have problems with it deleting files using the manual scan. Set the options as disinfect and the second one as move to quarantine and the third one as take no action. It still manages to delete some files without moving them to quarantine while running a manual scan.
  • The files are analyzed by analysts, which look directly at the file, and see what it does (without running it). That does explain all of the false positive alerts due to the anti-virus engine scanning for "estimated' virus signatures instead of actual ones . To the original poster, glad to help out somewhat.
  • If you haven't tried the obvious (rebooting that is), do a repair install and if that doesn't work uninstall and reinstall. Encounter the same problem as well with the services stopping on occasion (does happen on random and can't pin point the problem to it other then program bug with bitdefender) so can't provide any…
  • It should mention it in the help file. Guessing they would want for you to .zip it and tag it as a virus so they can send it over to their test/guinea pig pc's.
  • As for CRT monitors (oposed to the guy youre talking about in your replies) i can dismantle it and rebuild it from scratch .At 14 years old i was building my first audio amplifier ,wasnt great ,but sound was coming out of it. I built my first LEGO 600 piece collection set when I was seven so you don' thave nothing on me .…
  • You have two options, a. turn bitdefender (whatever edition you own) to game mode or b. set the firewall and antivirus to basically off. Had an issue once where bitdefender firewall wasn't let microsoft update install updates for microsoft office 2007 so turned off the firewall and the updates installed perfectly.
  • I won't consider it being rogue software, but bitdefender does have plenty of bugs/issues to deal with. Blue screens of death (yes, tested and confirmed it was bitdefender 2009 internet security that caused it, even checked the system logs as well), updating engine being corrupt after a while, protection services stop on…
  • Your best bet is to just uninstall and reinstall. Bitdefender 2009 is very buggy and the updating engine will go corrupt after some time.
  • Configured identity control as in enabling other protection options or just the basic/default ones? It is practically useless, but guess it's there for the paranoid. Bitdefender has all sorts of problems with gmail (taking forever to scan, open messages, considering safe emails as being a threat, and so fourth) so your…

  • Yeah that happens with bitdefender (the services stop working and such after an update or something). Use the uninstall tool from the bitdefender website, run a registry cleaner and then reinstall it. You have one of your scanning options/identify protection set to "high' protection or something so try lowering one of…
  • Try uninstalling bitdefender (whatever edition you own) and reinstalling. Know it sounds like a pain, but had to do the same thing to fix my pending issue problems that were not being fixed with the "fix" option.
  • I hate that about bitdefender internet security 2009 as well . But it was kind of funny when it detected the Microsoft removal tool (december one) as generic Trojan when it was downloaded directly from the Windows Download site itself about two weeks back.
  • You have few options: try uninstalling and reinstalling (I know but only owned it a month so far and reinstalled it three times to fix all of the issues), delete all of your rules and recreate them, try the internet security 2009 ( , oh noes), or your last option is format and reinstalling your os (don't worry, it takes…
  • You know what to do then. Uninstall bitdefender; use another free anti-virus program and see if the same thing happens. Haven't encountered the same problem with bitdefender, but the updates are huge (especially all of the plug-ins).
  • Try uninstalling (with the bitdefender removal tool) and reinstalling, might fix your issue. Since owning bitdefender, had to uninstall and reinstall about three times so far in order to have it fully working and five repair installs (only fixes a few issues).
  • Trojans can automatically turn the bitdefender services to off or stop working and so can bitdefender updates as well . Unfortunatlly can't get my refund back since I purchased it retail and the store won't accept it back due to it being open so stuck with it somewhat (Bitdefender Internet Security 2009). Still hate it…
  • Uninstall bitdefender and see if the same thing happens. If it doesn't, then you it was bitdefender causing it. Windows firewall is not bad actually and will protect you from basic threats while you see if bitdfender is the cause of the problem.
  • I am encountering the same thing as well. Whenever I go to install updates, the updates will fail. But if I disable the real time scanning, the updates install successfully. Operating system windows Xp 64 bit and using "internet security 2009."
  • The Bitdefender "internet Security 2009" is working to a certain extent, but it is still somewhat buggy. For example: the protection services shutting off on me randomly, bitdefender 'forgetting' the options I set after some updates, and on occasions update failures when their is an active internet connection.
  • My Bitdefender "Internet Security 2009" does the same thing as well (the service stopping and no firewall protection). Although bitdefender recommends turning off the windows firewall when you first install due to it having an 'advance' firewall, but still I keep the windows firewall on just in case the bitdefender…
