Can I ask how you manage to take a screenshot? This is something that seemed to elude me with SafePay (as mentioned on a previous thread). Regarding the URL I provided above, most of the graphical elements were there, I guess, but there were some little squares further in to the online application process that I believe…

Hi, Gjoski. I just noticed your latest tip that 'snuck in' between a couple of my posts. Here are my current settings (after the reinstallation) I don't particularly mind if Safepay is always opened automatically whenever I visit (say) PayPal's website, paypal.com (or any subdomain thereof), if I've specified that on my…dans SafePay keeps popping up when browsing website in Opera today Commentaire de DIVERSE septembre 2022

Hi, Alexandru_BD. Yes, I had the feeling the profiles could be either enabled or disabled. [When I said "not sure" it was partly me being too tired/lazy to investigate late at night!] I can see that it's possible to add applications. However, I cannot see a listing of the applications already added, nor does there seem to…

BTW, confirmation (sort of) that the above site does use PayPal: just for fun I launched it in Lynx, as below.dans SafePay keeps popping up when browsing website in Opera today Commentaire de DIVERSE septembre 2022

OK, the reinstallation is complete. It uninstalled the existing files, rebooted, downloaded the current installation package, installed it, and went through some configuration actions, and after that I also forced an update of the databases. (From a quick look only, I couldn't see where to find the database status: neither…dans SafePay keeps popping up when browsing website in Opera today Commentaire de DIVERSE septembre 2022

The problem is that I'm not opening up a website in the paypal.com domain. My best guess (so far) is that some websites (or even emails???) that I opened contained elements hosted off the paypal.com domain. Regarding the data shown in the Add or Remove Programs dialogue box, we'll soon see.... (This is from Gjoksi's Step…dans SafePay keeps popping up when browsing website in Opera today Commentaire de DIVERSE septembre 2022

FYI, here is the status before reinstalling: I'll have to do something, as today Safepay launched itself with a paypal.com URL (still no content shown) without me freshly opening any obvious shopping site. I had just launched both Edge and SeaMonkey (each restoring tabs from last session). And then opened a handful of…dans SafePay keeps popping up when browsing website in Opera today Commentaire de DIVERSE septembre 2022

Sorry, Scott. I meant that I cannot find a way to capture a screenshot of Safepay. Specifically: the keyboard buttons don't do it, and the IrfanView timer doesn't do it. (I just end up with a blacked-out rectangle.) Maybe it's some sort of Safepay security feature (if so, I can live with that). I hadn't explained it above…dans SafePay keeps popping up when browsing website in Opera today Commentaire de DIVERSE septembre 2022

I just realised that I forgot to mention one other important detail: none of the above bullet-pointed links [that were opened automatically in Safepay from either the Mitre 10 or Home Hardware websites] show any visible content whatsoever. (Apparently I'm prevented from taking a screenshot of the Safepay window, though.)dans SafePay keeps popping up when browsing website in Opera today Commentaire de DIVERSE septembre 2022

Just thinking about this: for a never-before-visited website ( www.acme-best-ever-products.com , let's say) even if BitDefender thought there was some payment/transaction about to be made, then (in general) I reckon BIS would check with a user "Do you want to open this in Safepay" (or words to that effect). And I reckon…dans SafePay keeps popping up when browsing website in Opera today Commentaire de DIVERSE septembre 2022

It also happens with the related website https://www.mitre10.com.au/gifts/gardener-gifts/gardening-tools-gifts?p=4 . As above, I'm not clicking any "Purchase" buttons; nothing in my cart (not logged in, and don't think I even have an account); just browsing and right-clicking products to open in new tabs. Follow-up to my post of 07 July 2022. It's not only Zoom that triggers the Work Profile. Other applications that trigger it include Thunderbird (an email client) and Excel (a spreadsheet editor). Not sure whether there's a listing anywhere of all the applications that trigger the Work Profile. Or whether users can…

I have also found some of these notifications irritating, though I haven't gotten them quite as often as some other respondents. I think the message from the community to the developers about not liking this current (default) behaviour is clear enough. To further encourage specific action, I would suggest now that…

A little digression, but I'm also not sure that it's helpful/necessary to show separate icons for each Contextual Scan report in the system tray. (Maybe this was a side-effect of wanting to not add to the taskbar?)

I think this mystery is mostly solved now. As mentioned, the Work profile is set (by default, I believe) to "Postpone Windows Automatic Updates". This morning, when I launched Zoom, I noticed a message coming up: "Work Profile We always have your back while working. The performance of your device was automatically…

Thanks for the detailed feedback! As a relatively new user, it has taken me a while to get my head around things like the Office Wi-Fi Profile and the Work Profile (which sound a bit similar, but turn out to be different). Thank-you for the support.

Here is the interface I was mainly referring to: I cannot see how to access the "Close" button from the keyboard. Incidentally, besides the desirability of being able to use the tab (or arrow) key to navigate between the "View log" and "Close" buttons, another desirable feature would be for a shortcut (underlined letter)…

Here it is: I think the Level 2 permissions kicked in a short while after the previous post.

Well, it might be an anti-climax after I already described it in words, but here goes.... .... ugh actually it's even more of an anti-climax than I thought. Apparently I still can't post "links" (including images) — you mentioned in another post that users need to be at Level 2 in order to do that.

Thanks, @mrmirakhur, @Gjoksi & @Scott. I'm open to the possibility that not everyone will share my view, although I still find the counterview surprising. So much so that I second-guess whether I made my suggestion clear enough. First let's talk about the motivation for the feature of scanning USB drives. I might be…

I hadn't replied for a while for two reasons: (i) being too busy, and (ii) observing such erratic behaviour that there was no straightforward pattern to describe. Earlier today I cross-posted to https :// answers.microsoft…

I guess a lot of victims of viruses "know" what's on their disks, "know" what's attached to the emails they've received, and "know" what they're downloading from various websites?

Incidentally — digressing a little — I am not keen on any applications (e.g. Excel, web browsers) being opened up without an explicit request from the user, with the exception of basic tools like Notepad. Below is the irritating and unwanted result of me clicking "Enter" a handful of times (not more than that) on the…

While the Public Wi-Fi Profile is documented, it seems that the Office Wi-Fi Profile and Home Wi-Fi Profile are not. Cf. bitdefender .com/consumer/support/answer/2062/ It's also an open question as to what happens by declining the pop-up. Logically I would hope that it should default to the more cautious ("Public")…

You could be right. I am still monitoring this.

It gets worse.... The trial version I downloaded was Bitdefender Internet Security (3 devices). Frankly I cannot remember whether that was an option I chose, or whether everyone gets the same thing, but suffice it to say that I really only wanted it for my laptop — i.e. 1 device. When I got the email, with the poor…

Thanks, Gjoksi79_. That does seem to work. As there's a support article on it, I probably would have eventually found it myself if I'd searched for it. The general theme of this discussion thread, however, is around user experience, and I would argue that it shouldn't be so difficult that the only way to accomplish it is…

Hi, again, all. I "bit the bullet" and purchased a year of Bitdefender Internet Security subscription (for up to 3 Windows devices). There were three other things that came up in this process. Well, unnecessary irritations, really. As a Trial User, I received an email a few days ago informing me that I only had 10 days…

By the way, does anyone know of a specific Event Log that would help to track what is causing the above setting to be silently changed in the background? Thanks, Phil. It's good to hear of your similar experience. And with greater expertise than me, by the sounds of it :-) Thanks also, Alexandru, for considering the above feedback. It seems like the key differences are between the following: anti-virus applications and antimalware applications; applications that…
