I don't think the free variant scans the hosts file, the vulnerability module (which does scan it) is not installed in that variant. But let me ask the guys to be 100% sure.1 -

A note. The "Scan host file"-option is useless as it is today for advanced users, and also misleading in the description, as it reads "Checks the file that maps hostnames to IP address…1 -
