For some reason my copy of BitDefender will not load

My copy of BitDefender isn't loading? I'm getting a communications failure message, Communication with Bitdefender App service failed to be initiated. To retry the connection, please click the button below. Does this mean I'm not protected??? I've tried rebooting three times, with no change. I can access several of my Internet sites, so I don't think the problem is on my side.

    Hello @Goldie5513,

    The message indicated that Bitdefender on your device is experiencing issues connecting to its necessary services. Restart the device, then restart the Bitdefender services this way: press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
    Look for services related to Bitdefender
    and right-click each service and select Restart.

    Also check if Bitdefender is up to date. Open the Bitdefender UI and check for updates, or right click on the Bitdefender systray icon and select Update.

  • Thank you all for your help and suggestions. I uninstalled BitDefender and reinstalled the program. My icons are back. I ran a full scan and nothing evil showed up.
