Disable Scanning New External Hard Disks?

Hi,

Is there a way to disable scanning new external hard disks? I just put in a 4TB drive to copy over a handful of files, and now Bitdefender is scanning the whole drive, which is taking forever. I want to use the dock for something else!

To stop Bitdefender from automatically scanning external drives, you can disable the feature. Have a look at the image provided below.

Disabling 'Scan flash drives' does not work! I tried it. Also, it's impossible to add the external drive letter to the list of exclusions because whatever Bitdefender is doing with the external drive just plugged in keeps it from ever getting a drive letter assigned to it. I suppose, maybe, if I had the luxury of waiting, potentially for hours, for my pc to ever become responsive again, Bitdefender would finish whatever it thinks it needs to do to the newly plugged in external drive and assign a drive letter. Instead, I reset my pc and uninstalled Bitdefender when it came back.

I reiterate my first sentence above. DISABLING 'SCAN FLASH DRIVES' DOES NOT WORK!
