False Positives on APK Files: How to Resolve Bitdefender Flagging Clean Downloads?
Hey community,
I’ve been using Bitdefender for a while now and really appreciate its malware detection capabilities. However, I’ve come across a recurring issue with APK files.
I run a website, [*url removed by @Flexx*] , where I share safe and verified APKs after scanning them with multiple antivirus solutions, including Bitdefender. Despite this, some users have reported that Bitdefender flags these APKs as potentially malicious during downloads.
The files are clean and safe, but I’m worried that this might be a false positive issue. Does anyone know:
- Why Bitdefender might be flagging clean APK files?
- How I can report these false positives to Bitdefender to ensure smooth user experience?
I’d really appreciate any guidance or suggestions from the community!"

If you believe that a website or file has been incorrectly blocked by Bitdefender, you can share the details with our malware researchers by filling out the form at the link provided below:

If the website or file is indeed incorrectly blocked, the detection will be removed within a maximum of 72 hours. However, if the detection still persists after 72 hours, consider the website or file as malicious, as determined by our malware researchers, and the detection will remain.
