bitdefender vpn and netflix

I am a new user of the bit defender premium with the vpn. I now find I cannot watch netflix without turning the vpn off, surely this defeats the object and if I had known this last week I would never have signed up for it. Is there a workaround please.

Companies like Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc., have a known set of VPN IPs that they blacklist on a constant basis, making it harder for users to access these websites while using a VPN. It's neither the fault of Bitdefender nor the respective companies. These companies are protecting their content by blocking and regularly updating their blocklists with VPN IPs. This issue is not exclusive to Bitdefender but also affects other VPN providers. The only workaround is to change the VPN server and check which one isn't blacklisted by these services.

Go to step 1 to find out how to change the server, then consider changing the DNS settings on your device as well.

If nothing helps, then most likely Netflix is blocking the VPN connection, as Flexx explained above.
