Copilot doesn't work if VPN is connected

Try changing the protocol in the VPN settings.

Hello,
To add here, I think there can be multiple possible causes behind this, and the first I can think of is that if you're using a server in a region where Copilot isn't available, it could prevent the service from working.. that would be a best guess, but diving deeper into this there's also a chance that the VPN might interfere with certain network protocols or ports required by Copilot. Also, I think other protection features might block traffic related to Copilot as well, for example the firewall. Or, the VPN might be overriding the DNS settings, which could prevent connections to necessary Microsoft servers. If the issue persists, I think the first troubleshooting step you could try is to change to a different server the Bitdefender VPN app (if you are using the Premium version), preferably in the same region as your actual location. You can then proceed to add Microsoft Copilot-related processes and URLs to Bitdefender's exceptions list. Temporarily disconnect the VPN and verify that Copilot works. If it does, the issue is likely with the VPN configuration. I would also check if the Windows region settings match the location of your VPN server.
There are more advanced troubleshooting steps you can take, for example disable or reconfigure the proxy settings, run the following commands in Command Prompt (as Administrator):
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
If nothing works, then I think Bitdefender Support can have a closer look and provide further assistance. If necessary, you can get in touch with them using the link below:State your contact reason / choose request category, then choose from the available contact channels, chat, phone and email/ticket. Chat would be the fastest way to reach them.
Let us know what worked for you.

I have change the protocol to OpenVPN TCP. My Copilot is now working. But VPN gives me a warning: Some features have limited or no functionality with the current VPN protocol. Please switch to Hydra for optimal performance. I will see if there is a problem for in the comming days.

i have also the problem that Microsoft Copilot doesn't work with activated automatic VPN.
Which protocol must be activated for working?

Hi @ThomasS.
The "VPN öffnen" is the openVPN, TCP or UDP. If changing the protocols don't work try the solution suggested by @Alexandru_BD

Thanks. I solved the issue due to changing the VPN from "connect automatically" to changing the server to Germany.
