  • Try resetting your router. Resetting your router is a good step if you suspect network interference or unauthorized access. Here's how to proceed safely:

    1) Restart the Router (Soft Reset)

    • Unplug the router from the power source.
    • Wait for about 30 seconds.
    • Plug it back in and wait for the connection to re-establish.
    • Check if the VPN connection works after the restart.

    2) Reset the Router (Hard Reset)

If restarting doesn't help, you can perform a factory reset. This will erase all custom settings, including Wi-Fi passwords and configurations, so proceed with caution:

    • Locate the reset button (usually a small hole) on the router.
    • Using a paperclip, press and hold the reset button for about 10-15 seconds.
    • Release the button and wait for the router to reboot.
    • Reconfigure your router settings, including:
      • Change the default admin password to something strong and unique.
      • Enable WPA3 or WPA2 encryption for Wi-Fi security.
      • Disable WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) to prevent unauthorized access.
      • Check connected devices to ensure no unauthorized devices are on your network.

    3) Firmware Update

    • After resetting, check for firmware updates for your router model. An outdated firmware version can have security vulnerabilities that might be exploited.

    4) Reconnect VPN

    • Once the router is reset and secured, try reconnecting to the VPN to see if the issue is resolved.

These steps can help secure your network and eliminate any configuration issues affecting your VPN connection.
