External hdd (external hard disk - drive) USB drive can't be viewed in windows explorer. The disk can't be ejected. Forces a hard reset of the pc. All external hard drives behave this way.

USB keys are fine.

I uninstalled BitDefender Total and the problem was gone. GravityZone does not have this issue.

Win 11 24H2.

Can only see hard drives if they are plugged in prior to turning system on. This is not an acceptable practice to cover up a bug in the software.

To get an immediate update, use the chat option. Bitdefender support may require logs and will assist you in generating them.

Also, ensure you do not have any ad-blocker or privacy-blocker extensions enabled, as they might prevent the chat window from appearing.
