Is SafePay compatible with other VPNs?
I have NordVPN running. When I open SafePay, the connection icon only shows the WiFi network I am connected to and stops indicating the VPN. I saw a discussion from over a year ago that SafePay can sometimes disconnect non-Bitdefender VPNs, so I am nervous that my secure connection is being interrupted. Connecting the free Bitdefender VPN as well would be okay, but 200 Mb might not be enough for everything I want to protect. I am running Windows 11 Home. Thanks.

Hello,
An easy way to confirm this is to connect to a Nord server on your desktop browser. Then go to
and it will show you where you're connected to (as well as Nord). Now open up Safepay and go to that site again, it should show you the same location as on your desktop, tunneling your connection through your VPN.The network at the bottom won't show the Nord network, protocol used, but only your Wi-Fi network name. It's the same when BD VPN is connected, it doesn't show the BD VPN protocol used, but only my Wi-Fi connection name.
I have a Bitdefender VPN Premium subscription, but also for this test, I used Proton Free VPN and took a couple of photos while in Safepay. Both the VPN connection on my desktop, as well as in Safepay, were connected to the same server in Dallas.
If you're on your home network, IMO I really don't think it's necessary to use a VPN with Safepay, unless you're on a public Wi-Fi, but, to each their own :) The link below has some good information by @Alexandru_BD as well as in that thread.

Also, I don't believe the little Bitdefender VPN banner at the bottom of the Safepay screen will show a green icon when your connected with BD VPN, I thinks it's just a heads up warning when you scroll over it…"to ensure your connection is safe…."
