System Scan

Does bitdefender total security scans all of the files ( including already scanned ) in System Scan or scans '' new and modified files '' only ?
The answer is necessary to help the users to configure a custom scan. Alex told me that it covers all files but it is not clear that he means the new and modified all files or the whole files. plz specify. thx.

Hi,

By default, "System Scan" scans everything. "Scan only new and modified files" applies to System Scan and I think it's self explanatory. When this feature is enabled, the System Scan will no longer scan files that were not altered in any way since the last scan. This improves the scanning process and reduces the overall scanning time.

And what if an installed app makes any alterations to the system files at any time, while 'Scan only new and modified files' is enabled in Bitdefender's product settings?

Now, I understand that Bitdefender's real-time protection may kick in. But at the same time, I’m wondering — does enabling 'Scan only new and modified files' affect real-time protection, even though that setting is part of the full system scan configuration? That’s the tricky part I’m trying to understand and get more information about.

As you know, Bitdefender has many layers of security that back each other up, so that there are no gaps in protection whatsoever. For the scenario you have described there's a different option - OnAccess, in the Shield → Advanced settings.

Are these settings for real-time scanning or simply general scan settings? Please modify the app to clearly explain whether the scanning is happening in real-time or if these are just configuration options.
People do not need to ask , everything should be crystal clear right inside the app bro.
