Password Manager or SecurePass

I'm a non-techie installing Premium Security on 2 Windows PCs, 2 Android phones and an iPad. Overall it's been much less confusing and maddening than the departing No**on ;-)

However, being invited to install both Password Manager AND SecurePass threw me, as I'd read that the latter replaced the former? I plumped for SecurePass (btw, why is the routine so different - even the words used to describe the steps vary?) It now looks like SecurePass can only be installed on 1 device in Premium (I haven't been able to confirm this in the sales guff), which would defeat one of the reasons for picking Bitdefender.

Am I limited to one device? If so, is Password Manager similarly limited, or could I 'downgrade' to that and install it on all five devices? Is the intention to do away with Password Manager eventually?

  • I think I've managed to muddle through this. In "My Subscriptions", Security and VPN Premium each say "5 Devices" are included, whereas SecurePass says "1 User" included. I'd interpreted that wrongly, as I now believe it can be installed on at least 5 and possibly more devices, but the other "User" in the household (wifey) can't have a separate vault for 'her' passwords. As we don't think that matters, I've now installed SecurePass on 5 devices and all our passwords are stored together under my name and are visible to both of us. Not 100% ideal, but good enough. It does mean if one of us falls under a bus the other can still access important accounts, like eBay, where she can sell off all my stuff 🤣.

If you think this is wrong, or have any useful suggestions, please feel free to respond.

I'll end by saying that, whilst it's not all been plain sailing, if I'd had to do the same range of installations and sync-ing with the out-going No**on, I would by now have smashed the PC, killed the cat and burned the house down in a fit of blind rage, so that's good👍️

    Hello @Carefant

Your current interpretation is correct - since you have an individual plan for Premium Security, you can install SecurePass on multiple devices, but all the devices will have the same vault. For the future though, keep in mind there is also the option of a family plan, which allows up to 5 users.

If you encounter any trouble with SecurePass, please do not hesitate to reach out

One last thing - I can't speak for the PC or the house, but we really like cats around here, so I'm very happy your transition to Bitdefender was successful and rage-free 😄
